What beauty do I see when my gaze is upon thee?
What innocence of joy lifts my soul to peace?
Who am I that blessings are abundant for me?
Who am I that love seems to never cease?
Your eyes sparkle from the spring of love in your soul.
Your arms reach unconditionally with warmth from your heart.
Each movement you make, like that of a newborn foal.
Ever so eager to step, yet slowly, and afraid sometimes to start.
When first we met our love was new, full of passion and desire.
When our time was filled with thoughts of each other, nothing wavered.
The time we spent apart, was trudging, lingering through the mire.
Then when the hours had past, together again our love was savored.
Can you hear my heart; do you know that it sings for you?
Can you feel the warmth and the longing to be in your arms?
Hold me tight, caress my hair and comfort me anew.
Tell me that all will be okay and keep me from life’s alarms.
As time slowly passes on and our life dwindles away,
