Hello, everyone.

I wanted to post my welcome thread, and I hope to get fairly active around the site soon enough. I'm an 18 year old female girl, who.... has never been saved. I thought I was at one point when I was younger, but I realized I never actually accepted Jesus. I joined this site mostly because I've been struggling with figuring it all out. I think I believe. I mean, it's what I was raised on. It's just a matter of swallowing my pride, I guess, and just... doing God's will. Asking for forgiveness, accepting Jesus, and admitting he died and was raised again.

I guess you could say I'm scared, and selfish. I like my sin too much to let go, but there's a part of me that just wants to. Anyway, I'm here to learn mostly. I've decided that if I do get saved, I want to do it the right way. I'm bitter because no matter what, even if I was saved, I'm still gonna think I'm a disappointment to God. I don't know.

Back to introducing myself. Feel free to call me by my username. I am a soon to be college student this fall, and I'm pretty proud about that. I like to do things like blog, read, watch movies, write, dream, draw, and hang out with friends. I have four pets. 3 dachshunds, and one betta fish I bough last Saturday. I <3 him very much. In fact, although I have dogs, I feel like I actually own the fish. I feed him, clean out his bowl...um, watch him swim around. xD His name is actually Huckleberry too. He's blue, with two small orange fins.

What else? Hmm... I can't think of anything right now. I'll wrap this up. Thanks for reading.

Hello Huckleberry,

Stay faithful and ask for ask forgiveness....God knows the times we live in and knows how hard it can be...But at the same time you are his child and the love that he has for you is so great...Its just so much to actually put in words...Just as a loving father or loving mother has the love to forgive their child and knows their child...

So stay strong...Get wiser and I will personally help if you really want

You don't accept Jesus, and say a prayer and that assures you a key to open heavens door. Satan believes in Jesus along with his demons. Are you a fan of Jesus or a follower of Jesus? Millions have believed in or on Jesus and are great fans of Jesus, they have Bible verses on their shirts, Jesus emblems on their cars. they have accepted Jesus. But they all have missed the mark! Over and over Jesus said to follow Him. Here is a very blunt question, are you ready? What changes have you made to prove you are a follower? Go to church regularly? Read the Bible everyday, or most days? Been Baptised yet? Shared Jesus with any unsaved friends? What did you do before knowing Jesus that you don't do now?

ANYONE WHO CAN'T ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS, SHOWING THAT JESUS IS THE REASON FOR CHANGES, NEEDS TO RE-THINK WHAT A FOLLOWER OF JESUS REALLY IS. ARE YOU A FAN OR FOLLOWER OF JESUS? JESUS WANTS US TO FOLLOW HIM. THERE ARE MILLIONS OF FANS WHO WILL HEAR JESUS SAY " I NEVER KNEW YOU, DEPART FROM ME"

Be welcomed here Huckleberry,
It is the kindness of the Lord that leads us to repentance. There is nothing good within ourselves that we can present to God that endears us to Him. HE first loved us... just as selfish and lost as we are. He could never be disappointed in you, so there is no reason to be bitter. You wrote: It's just a matter of swallowing my pride, I guess, and just... doing God's will. Asking for forgiveness, accepting Jesus, and admitting he died and was raised again. You say you aren't ready because you like your sin too much to let go. Ask God to show you how YOUR sin separates you from Him. It is a personal Savior that we need to bring us to loving and wanting to serve God. Knowing that Jesus was a part of history is a fact that can be proven. Knowing He was beaten, whipped, spat upon, cursed, nailed to the cross, bled, died and rose again because of MY sin births a heart of awe, peace, thanksgiving, joy as well as brokenness within me. HE hung there for ME! Knowing that motivates me to share His love as well as hate my sin - because it separates me from Him. You are at a cross roads in many ways. Transitioning from high school to college can be the start of a new life. I will lift you before His mercy today and ask that you would CHOOSE eternal LIFE.
Blessings..

Hello, everyone.

Hi, Huckleberry, welcome to TJ, glad to have you here with us!

:groupwave:

I just wanted to comment on a few of the things you said. About liking your sin too much to let go, I know how you feel because I was once like that. Our fleshly sins are hard to give up on our own accord, it would be like asking a pig to stop rolling in mud. The mud has to be taken away, the old nature that wallows in the filth of sin needs to be removed. And this is God's work to do, not ours. When you call on Him in sincerity Jesus will wash your sins away and give you a new heart full of love for Him, the old things will pass away and everything will become new for you. (2 Corinthians 5:17).

A lot of the things you formerly liked will fade away and you'll wonder why you ever clung so much to them. It's like clearing things out of your house that have been cluttering it up for years that you thought you needed so badly. Once they're gone you won't even miss them. Then again, I wouldn't even worry about this issue too much because God's plans for you will never steer you wrong. Just repent of your sins and take up your cross and follow Him, and He'll take care of all the details.

As for being a disappointment to God, He didn't die a horrible death to save disappointments. Scripture says Jesus considered it a JOY to endure the cross for our sakes. (Hebrews 12:1-2). So rest assured that you are the very opposite of a disappointment to Him! God loves you, and I believe you are here because He wants you to be. I pray that you open the door when He knocks at your heart. God bless!

P.S. ...... dachshunds are awesome!

Hi! Nice to meet you and your fish! I love how you described him! He's so blessed to have you... I believe even if he just stayed there never swim around or anything, you would still love him. Much like Jesus.. :) He loves us no matter what. Will we bring disappointments to Him? Yes and ALWAYS.. but its not about being qualified, its about a relationship with Him. And the fact that accepting Him as our savior, He will always forgive us, but He will not let us keep sinning. He will guide you too, so don't be afraid. Welcome to TalkJesus!

Hey!

Now Huckleberry, I am glad you are concerned with your salvation. It is very important, really. Responding to the great effort Jesus went through to reach you is the most pleasing thing to God because your choice honors the Father and the Son. As a result of honoring Jesus by trusting Him with your soul, you can never be a disappointment to God.
