Hi everyone!

I have been studying the book of mattew for a while now and there is a passage that bothers me.

Matt 8;11-12

<TABLE style="WIDTH: 100%; FONT-FAMILY: sans-serif; MARGIN-LEFT: auto; FONT-SIZE: 100%; MARGIN-RIGHT: auto" border=0><TBODY><TR><TD class=t_verse vAlign=top>11</TD><TD style="WIDTH: 100%" class=t_text vAlign=top>And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven.</TD></TR><TR><TD class=t_verse vAlign=top>12</TD><TD style="WIDTH: 100%" class=t_text vAlign=top>But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

what does Jesus really mean? It just makes me confused.

thank you all!

Hej!

What you're looking for is in verse 10 ...

10 When Jesus heard this, he was astonished and said to those following him, "I tell you the truth, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith.

The kingdom he's talking about is Israel. Jesus is explaining that being a child of Israel won't get you saved.

Many in Israel (just like many who have church memberships today) think that they are going to inherit the Kingdom of God as a birthright, membership or ritual. God has children and never grandchildren.
We all need to receive this son-ship by faith. When the reality of Jesus Christ sheeding His precious blood for us personally; when we accept this atonement as our very own He becomes our very righteousness. We are then born again into new life , the Living God Himself dwells in our spirit and the Kingdom of God is ours. It is then and only then that we become children of God.

How about reading that same passage in the new Living Translation for more clarity?

Matthew 8:11-12
And I tell you this, that many Gentiles will come from all over the world—from east and west—and sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob at the feast in the Kingdom of Heaven. But many Israelites—those for whom the Kingdom was prepared—will be thrown into outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

Does that help?

I got here a little late ...lol
I cannot add anything this crowd hasn't already.

Good seeing you again see you in chat again soon
