AreYou A Lot?

2 Peter 2:
6 And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;
7 And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:
8 (For that righteousman dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;)

Lot spent a great deal of time in Sodom. He vexed (woredown, pained, tormented) his soul.

God delivered Lot. He took him out of the city, out of destruction. Lot was spared.

But, how many converts did Lot take with him?

We are living in a filthy, wicked, ungodly world.

God will deliver the righteous, but how many converts will we take out with us?

Are you a Lot?

Think about it!

You have written down the conviction that has been burning so powerfully in my heart lately.
And reading this brings me to tears......O that my heart had more compassion for the lost

And for all my devotion to the Lord and longing to live and be like Him.......what is it worth if I am not leading souls to the Lord and longing for their salvation

This old hymn has kept coming into my mind

Must I go, and empty handed,
Thus my dear Redeemer meet?
Not one day of service give Him,
Lay no trophy at His feet?

Must I go, and empty handed?
Must I meet my Savior so?
Not one soul with which to greet Him,
Must I empty handed go?

Not at death I shrink or falter,
For my Savior saves me now;
But to meet Him empty handed,
Thought of that now clouds my brow.

O ye saints, arouse, be earnest,
Up and work while yet ’tis day;
Ere the night of death o’ertake thee,
Strive for souls while still you may*

Bless you brother....thank you for your word...... I believe a word from the Lord into the depth of my heart

He that winneth souls is wise
Proverbs 11:30

The Lord has been dealing with me on this as well. I believe we have let down. We need to reach the lost.

That song says it well.

It's not a new thing, this thing of leaving empty- handed, is it?

"Son of man, when the land sinneth against me by trespassing grievously, then will I stretch out mine hand upon it, and will break the staff of the bread thereof, and will send famine upon it, and will cut off man and beast from it:

Though these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they should deliver but their own souls by their righteousness, saith the Lord GOD.

If I cause noisome beasts to pass through the land, and they spoil it, so that it be desolate, that no man may pass through because of the beasts:

Though these three men were in it, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, they shall deliver neither sons nor daughters; they only shall be delivered, but the land shall be desolate." Ezek 14:13-15

So, we do what can by sowing seeds whenever and wherever we can, knowing always that God alone gives the increase. Praised be His name!

True, we need to do what we can. But, are we?
It seems many are satisfied with just inviting people to church or handing out a tract or two.
Jesus said "Go into the world and "preach" the gospel"
We must be careful not get the attitude that they won't or I can't or there's no use.
