Apologetics sounds as if you are involved in a process of apologizing to some one about something. Could'nt be fruther from the truth. As most of you know, apologetics is defined as " speaking in defense" or defending a position. In the case of Christian Apologetics, we defend our faith against critics and tell that faith to outsiders. All Christians should practice apologetcs and most do. 1 Peter 3:15 15 but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect,

Apologetics is somewhat of a lonely endeavor. It is possible for a person to give a great deal of effort to apologetic work, to defending God’s word, to answering questions, to reasoning with people and wonder as if it all was as though it was worthless. Discouragement can be a reality to the apologist. There are certainly victories, by God’s grace; but there are many encounters that could simply be classified as "unprofitable." Reminds me of the "Parable of the Sower", some seeds fall on unfertile ground and some fall on fertile ground. Also, when jesus told his disciples to dust off their feet and move on when you are not recieved well, a lesson that I am still learning.

Apologetics is also hard because many Cristians have different faith doctrines. Some believe in faith alone salvation and some believe in faith mixed with works. Some believe you must be water baptised to be saved and not only that, the baptism must be done in one precise way. The list of different doctrines goes on and on. And then, there are cults to deal with, you've seen them. So, if your going to be a Christian Apologist what way is right, what will you defend?
