Praying for Evil.
David was a Warrior, His men where the most elite fighters in the World.
God did give the Enemy over to David's hands, and did Hear David, battle, after Battle.
However, the Lord said this, When David Wanted to build the Lord's Temple.
Ch 22:7 And David said to Solomon, My son, as for me, it was in my mind to build an house unto the name of the LORD my God:
1Ch 22:8 But the word of the LORD came to me, saying, Thou hast shed blood abundantly, and hast made great wars: thou shalt not build an house unto my name, because thou hast shed much blood upon the earth in my sight.
The Bible is the Word of God, but it's also is God, and How God deals with man, and the Knowledge man Has.
Just because David Prayed against his enemies, and God did hear, and delivered David, is no indication this did not cost David something. It Cost him doing what he always wanted to do, and that was build the Lord's Temple.
God has never changed. He is the same, thinks the same, is the same. God was able to get Across to David's son Solomon this.
Pro 16:7 When a man's ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.
Yes!!! We don't have to cut up the bad guys all the time. God can fix it.
There are times when War is necessary, and believing God for victory over the enemy is fine. However, with God's statement to David, It appears that God did bless David, Did deliver David's enemy's, but God had a better plans than David just killing everyone.
1Ch 22:8 ....... because thou hast shed much blood upon the earth in my sight.
So, by the Word of the Lord David said this.
Psa 9:3 When mine enemies are turned back, they shall fall and perish at thy presence.
Psa 9:4 For thou hast maintained my right and my cause; thou satest in the throne judging right.
Psa 9:5 Thou hast rebuked the heathen, thou hast destroyed the wicked, thou hast put out their name for ever and ever.
If you read Revelation, that is still true today. Nothing has changed. David seemed to be the type to pray, then gather up the men and jump into battle, just to make sure these things happened. David shed way to much Blood in the site of the Lord.

2Ti 4:14 Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil: the Lord reward him according to his works:
IF someone does us wrong, and they are not saved, that is how they are suppose to act. Dogs will Bark, Cats go Meow. Pray for them, they are blinded.
If someone attempts to hinder the Work of the Lord, then they are in trouble, let the Lord render unto them according to their works.
If Someone attempts to Hurt us....... That may cost them their life.....

Jesus Is Lord.
