Any Ideas?

A woman of another group I know, runs a animal rescue, and it's close to having to go under. She says they just don't have the funding.

She has tried mass emailing, posting to groups etc but nothing has helped. She says they take care of special needs animals and she has never asked for something like this in the past.

She wants to know if anyone has any ideas on ways to raise funding she just can't see shutting the doors because there is no one that will take most of these guys in.

She said they did hold a silent auction but made only 200 dollars & they ate through that rather fast. She thought about a car wash but its cold so she doubts they will get many volunteers.

If she prays to GOD that His will be done, then His will indeed will be done. He is in control of His creatures (animals) so I'm confident GOD has it under control.

It doesn't hurt to try a car wash, posting on bulletin boards at local gyms, shopping malls, food markets too.

She can contact the local news paper, place an ad.

In the ad she can express how useful the shelter is for the community, she can state the benefits they will reap if it remains open. In the article she can share stories of people who were touched because of working with the animals.

Advantages
A place for the kids in the neighborhood to occupy their time.
These shelters help abused and abandoned animals.
These animals are therapy for others, if they select animals from the shelter and take them to visit local children homes or even elderly homes.

She can try contacting, people involved in animal rights they know everything and will have contacts when it comes to funding. I believe Government provides funding (she'll have to do research, if I get info I'll post )

This needs to me a community effort, make donation sheets give it out to those involved let them go to local fire stations, local shops, churches, ask local schools if they would like to help.

Depending on how long this place have been open, the community need to get involve.
There is grants available....the problem is finding the right person to talk to.

she can start with them

Thank you, so much Chad & rizen1,

I sent her your reply, and though I haven't heard back from her yet, I will let you know how things turned out if & when I do.
