Why Lord?

OUR SUFFERINGS CALL US TO PRAY FOR OTHERS
As usual, before going to sleep, I sat alone with the Lord, talked to Him about the day’s happenings, thanked him for all the wonderful blessings obtained....fought with Him, for the small episodes of the day which I didn’t like...then I closed my eyes, thought of the times I had gone away from my Lord through my emotions, feelings, thoughts and deeds. Then I read Psalm 51 as I do every night. When I closed my Bible and looked up to my Lord a very odd question popped up, “Lord I know you love me. I know I too love you. Still why do I forget you at times? Why do I go astray?”
I felt bad! I felt angry! I asked myself, Why can’t my Lord, keep me close to Him always so that I don’t do anything that displeases my Lord. “My child, I love you a lot. When temptations come your life’s way, remember to pray for thousands of other people around you, who are not so close to me, who don’t even know how much I love them. You know that I love you.’ So, when ‘problems’ come your life’s way, it is easier for you to return to me. But it is very difficult for others around you because they don’t know that my love for them is unconditional and forgiving.” I felt peaceful, I felt happy, I felt thankful… Because the voice of my Lord made me realize that all that comes my life’s way has a purpose.
My Lord wants me to pray for my brothers and sisters who are going through similar problems... similar temptations... similar pains... in their life’s way. When problems, temptations, pains, sickness come to us remember to pray for thousands of people around you
who are going through similar experiences in their life. Each moment of your life, convert it into a prayer for similar people around you. When you pray for others, your loving God will bless you abundantly.
May each ‘experience’ in our life, be it good or bad, help each one of us to lead a life of prayer… praying for all our brothers and sisters going through similar problems in their life’s way.
When ‘really unexpected things’ happen in your life, think about all around you undergoing similar experiences.
Let us pray
O Lord! When temptations come our life’s way, when unexpected problems prop up in our lives, help us to come closer to you. Lord, give us the grace to pray for our brothers and sisters, going through similar “trauma”, similar painful experiences in their life. O Lord, be the master of our lives. Guard us and guide us... Lead us forward. Help us to live a life, pure and holy... Be with us O Lord for ever and ever...Amen.
