Another Jesus?

the true blessings from the lord are the convictions of sin in our life and us having the chance to repent of them to feel a godly sorrow for what we have done wrong toward our lord. it is knowing that if he is convicting our hearts he is changing our hearts to his righteousness. all we have to do is accept that.

we serve a merciful god.

I disagree.

I do not dwell on my sin nature; God created me a man of sin (it is called the fallen nature; it happened to Adam and it is happening to all of us; in other words the curse) Most cannot accepted it because they have not been called, or dragged or quickened.

The real blessing is to know HIM; who he really is.

so we dont have to repent of anything. just show up to a church and we are saved huh? i never seen this in scripture. the point is not for us to dwell on or in our sin. rather that remember where christ has brought us out of.

Why woruld I need to repent; I did many years of go HIS blood did a great job,

Yes, absolutely; my walk is not about going to church, my walk is about knowing HIM; spiritual growth, and learning HIS deep and abiding ways.

so you are 100% perfect then? i agree our walk with christ is not about us going to church. it is about us growing with him and in him.

HisFollower: As you know, The Vatican is a city-state that borders the city of Rome. Could you tell us where these messages etched in stone can be found in the Vatican?

SLE

Well I don't know about any stone tablets, but these heretical titles for the pope were originally brought up in a Protestant tract that went around London and other areas around 1896. It listed off several such questionable titles and such *as found in Canon Law.*

The words "Dominus Deus noster Pap"--"Our Lord God the Pope" is part of a larger quote: "To believe that Our Lord God the Pope has not the power to decree as he has decreed, is to be deemed heretical." All in all I find the larger quote more telling than the shorter one: The popes think they can speak for God. Personally I think they should perfect speaking *with* Him first.

These words appeared in the Roman Canon Law in the Gloss on the "Extravagantes" of Pope John XXII.* "*** inter," Tit. xiv, cap. iv., ad Callem. Sexti Decretalium, Paris 1685.

Also refer to "Tentativa Theologia," a Treatise on Episcopal Rights, &c., by Father A. Pereira, Priest and Doctor of Lisbon; English translation by Mr. Landon, London, 1847. Pereira, in page 180, tells us:--"It is quite certain that Popes have never reproved or rejected this title 'Lord God the Pope' for the passage in the Gloss referred to appears in the edition of the Canon Law published in Rome in 1580 by Gregory XIII. The Index Expurgatorious of Pius V., which orders the erasure of other passages, yet leaves this one."

It is important to note that to Pope Gregory's edition is appended his Bull in these terms: "We decree, sanction, and ordain, that it shall not be permitted to any one . . . . to add to or take from, to alter or transpose, or to add any interpretation to the book of Canon Law as revised, corrected and expurgated by our command, &c." Thus leaving the words "Dominus Deus noster Papa," confirmed by his Ex-Cathedra and infallible Bull.

So far as I know, it's still never been undone or recanted or whatever it is catholics call it if a pope wants to undo something said or supported Ex-Cathedra.

Whew...love that!

I dont think I have ever read this before, thanks for sharing.

The Popes of Catholicism have strayed a long ways from the simplicity of Christ, and attempted to drag His body with them, but then many a Preacher of Protestantism have done their own share of preaching another gospel, attempting to offer up offerings and worship God simply did not ordain...it seems many think worship is worship...and an offering acceptable because of its very intents and purpose...but the story of Cain and Abel should tell us differently....

Gen 4:2 Abel became a shepherd, but Cain was a farmer. After some time Cain brought some of his harvest and gave it as an offering to the LORD. Then Abel brought the first lamb born to one of his sheep, killed it, and gave the best parts of it as an offering. The LORD was pleased with Abel and his offering, but he rejected Cain and his offering. Cain became furious, and he scowled in anger...16 And Cain went away from the LORD's presence and lived in a land called "Wandering" ...

Thankfully God has always had men and women who will shun to offer God fruits of their own fleshly aspirations. If God did not ask for our religious offerings, why do we offer them? It can only be we are rebellious to the core or our carnal natures.

Joh 4:23 Yet the hour is coming, and is now here, when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth. Indeed, the Father is looking for people like that to worship him.

I`m sorry I have no time to be bored.

Our Lord God and the Pope do not belong in the same sentence.

God is divine and the Pope is a man

why not just believe what the word of God says because this is the truth.

And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. 1 John 3:5

Jesus is the only perfect one without sin . yes we are saved by His grace Ephesians 2:8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this is not from yourselves it is a gift of God.

We are forgiven of our sins they are dead to us, we have to build our faith up in the word and live a life that is fitting to God, can we still sin of course we can, we are human and living in a world of temptation.
we will never be perfect until we go to glory

we may live in a sinful world but we are not of it.

Romans 12 :2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

renewing of the mind :- Ephesians 4: 22-23 <TABLE style="WIDTH: 100%; FONT-FAMILY: sans-serif; MARGIN-LEFT: auto; FONT-SIZE: 100%; MARGIN-RIGHT: auto" border=0><TBODY><TR><TD style="WIDTH: 100%" class=t_text vAlign=top>That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of the mind

we become a new creation and in doing so we put of the old was.
we must allow the spirit to work in us and read the word of God to renew our minds.
we should be praying Psalm 134 : 23-24<TABLE style="WIDTH: 100%; FONT-FAMILY: sans-serif; MARGIN-LEFT: auto; FONT-SIZE: 100%; MARGIN-RIGHT: auto" border=0><TBODY><TR><TD style="WIDTH: 100%" class=t_text vAlign=top>Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:

Jesus = God of the OT

The funny thing about todays Christianity is that there is a separation in the perception of who Christ is, and who He actually is. Every one wants the meek and lowly, cross bearing, tear shedding Jesus, without the Revelation Jesus but to there shigrin he is and will be just that. Repent:lightning

Had to be to be what is

I agree with the previous post from hischildaswell - but i would like to add the following:

In my opinion - The meek and lowly, cross bearing, tear shedding Jesus represents a specific facet of the complete human being as it existed all along - a facet that in its absence would have made quite a dent in the doctrine that Jesus had to become man.

HOWEVER, this facet is not the image that endures in my mind when i think of Jesus.

It believe that it was a fleeting condition that Jesus had to endure in order to pay the human penalty as a human.

Right now, however, as i write this, the Jesus that went through that for me/us is an absolute and immaculate Ruler, but one that can understand me/us because He was one of us for a short time.

Thus He perceives the human condition not only from having created it but from having lived through it as well.

So we serve a God that was willing to go "back to the floor" and get His hands dirty, because He did just that. What a privilege.

There will be Many

The interesting thing of the many is what they say, But lord we did Mighty works in you name. So they had power but did as they pleased with it. the lord replies depart from me you doers of evil! Don't be decieve

Tragically, many claim to follow Christ, but haven't been baptised in water, haven't received the Holy Spirit because they don't speak in tongues.

I had no idea what any other religions believed Jesus was. I knew they believed differently, but I have never done the research. That is horrible.

But I also know that a lot of Christian's today try to make God something they want him to be.

The biggest question that upsets me is, "Why does God allow bad in the world?" Well because they are looking at a completely different God than the one in the Bible.

I have a question for lioncub though, I have been baptized. It was when I was 12 years old. I recently rededicated my life to the Lord after falling away. Does that mean that I need to get baptized again? Also, I have never spoken in tongues. When I have tried, it just sounds ridiculous to me. I can't seem to get any meaning from it. I have read others opinions and scriptures they posted with their opinions that Only some have the "gift" of speaking in tongues. Not all can do it so therefor not all have to. I am guessing you do not agree with this?

I know for a fact that I have the Holy Spirit living within me but I have never spoken in tongues. My understanding of the wrord is as you said. It is a gift, some get it, some don't.

But you never know. God is amazing.

Just follow Jesus and ignore those who try to tell who is or who is not saved by propagating their petty religious paradigms.

I agree if you are following the Jesus of the Bible. There tends to be many Jesus' out there these days that if you follow them, you will find that you are not on the narrow path to heaven.

As has already been stated...there is only one leader of the Christian teaching but there are always those who want to 'userp' a good thing and many religions have allowed themselves to be over-run with versions of Biblical teaching which aren't what Jesus Christ actually taught us.

This is iniquity and ensnares many.

There are little twists here and alterations there...there are styles of worship which Jesus condemned and there are people who use Chritianity as a social badge...but righteousness can only be achieved by following Jesus accurately and this can only be done by us, as individuals, reading his word and absorbing his truth.

The reward is everlasting life.

Another Jesus

I know that I am coming in late on this thread, but from what I have read (I admit have not read every page), no one is seeing the truth of this matter. Satan has taken over the whole of the mainstream "Christian" churches. I do not know of any that even teach the true Gospel of Christ and who He is. That is why Christ said in Rev 18 to "come out of her my people". The whole church (regardless of denomination) is harlot. They have all gone astray. I don't know of any church that even has a one complete doctrine that is the truth of scripture. They are all spiritually blind leading those who would follow them into the ditch. Paul was told shortly before he departed, that wolves would come into the churches that he started and that they not spare any of the flock. Christ even said that the church would become harlot in Matthew 13.

Mat 13:31-32 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field: Which indeed is the least of all seeds: but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof.

For those who have eyes and ears to understand, Christ is saying that those Christians who make up the church in the world will be corrupted by false teachings. The mustard seed is the Word of God. The man is Christ. The field are Christians (churches) who receive the Word in the world and as the Word grows inside them, evil spirits in the form of false doctrines come and corrupt them. The church becomes harlot.

Again in the very next parable:

Matt 13:33 Another parable spake he unto them; The kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.

This parable relates the same message. Leaven is false teachings. The woman is the church. The three measures of meal is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The false teachings grow to totally corrupt the teachings of Christ. The church becomes harlot.

As I said, the Word of God has been perverted for so long now by the churches, that no truth remains in her (the church in the world). She has become totally harlot.

The doctrine of Hell is the most damnable lie that has ever been told concerning the character of Christ. The doctrine of free will is false. The trinity doctrine is false, The doctrine on tithing is false. The Gospel of Christ they teach is false. All matters concerns the salvation of an individual is false. Things taught about resurrection are false and I could go on and on. Some of their teachings contain elements of truth but most do not. The leaven has completely leavened the meal.

If you have been given eyes that see and ears that ear, then you should obey Christ and come out of her and start following the true Christ. If you can hear the voice of the Lord, He and He alone will show you the Truth through His Word. The woman has only leaven.

I know that I have laid a lot in this post and I know probably everyone will deny what I have said is true. But I stand ready to defend my faith.

To save time, if anyone really wants to know more of what the true Christ says in scripture, I touched on many points in my posts in the "Question about Matthew 24 fig tree" thread down in the normal thread section.

May the Lord bless you,
Joe
