A young woman teacher with obvious liberal tendencies explains to her class of small children that she is an atheist. She asks her class if they are atheists too. Not really knowing what atheism is but wanting to be like their teacher, their hands explode into the air like fleshy fireworks.

There is, however, one exception. A beautiful girl named Lucy has not gone along with the crowd. The teacher asks her why she has decided to be different.

"Because, I'm not an atheist."

Then, asks the teacher, "What are you?"
"I'm a Christian."

The teacher is a little perturbed now, her face slightly red. She asks Lucy why she is a Christian.

"Well, I was brought up knowing and loving Jesus. My mom is a Christian, and my dad is a Christian, so I am a Christian."

The teacher is now angry. "That's no reason," she says loudly.

"What if your mom was an idiot and your dad was an idiot. What would you be then?"

Lucy paused, smiled and said, "Then, I'd be an atheist!"

Once again, Christians on this forum hope to be free from ridicule, to be peaceful, all loving, yet you are here, calling my former self, my friends, and my families idiots.
The Bible states that everybody is equal, I should need no quote for that. Why are you really, let's face it, being 'racist'?
What benefit do you have, of insulting all those close to me?
They're atheist, But I know, that they don't ignore God, or hate him, they're just lost from him.
They don't believe because their life has been bad.
Can you blame them? They don't need the followers of a loving God calling them idiots, Making them feel bad. You represent Jesus Christ to them, Are you giving them a good impression? No.
So stop it. You're not creating your peaceful all loving image very well.

One can hang onto and defend their Christ-less lifestyle of the past or move on.
Either way a sense of humor is a plus.

It's not defending their lifestyle, it's seeing it from their point of view. They're lost, and we're supposed to help them - not insult them. Although, I must admit that the joke was kind of funny ...

I understand completely (and yes it was funny). I certainly have a heart to reach those in this bondage.
We are spirit, soul and body.

Some are stuck following the impulses of their flesh, in them their body has pre-eminence.

Some are stuck following the dictates of their soul and cannot receive revelation knowledge from God and their intellect is their god:bot:.

Both of those groups are "upside down" and we need to be sensitive to helping them.

Having been a lost person myself though, I was always at least able to poke fun at myself or enjoy a joke.
