II Corinthians 6:16b - “And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the Living God. As God has said: ‘I will dwell in them and walk among them, I will be their God, and they shall be My people’”.

When you become a Christian, the God that you worship “moves inside of you”. Although we build big, beautiful buildings for churches, and set them apart as a place to worship and meet together with other people who love God, the real “house of God” - is YOU!

That is the truth declared here, concerning the “house” that God lives in on this earth. It’s a powerful truth to know that you have a home in heaven when you die. But, not only do you have a home in heaven, heaven has a home in you!

Christianity is the only “religion” in the world where the God that we worship has moved inside of us.

When Paul went to visit the people of Athens, in Acts l7, he went to the place where they held their philosophical debates, and had more statues of gods than in all the rest of Greece. They worshipped these statues, which had been created by their own hands. When looking at the statue of “the unknown God”, Paul proclaimed to them that the living God, who made the world and everything in it, does not dwell in man-made temples. In other words, we cannot create with our hands a dwelling place for the one who created our hands. It is God who has made us - We are His creation. Through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, He has made us His temple, His House to dwell in.

When you receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior, your Spirit receives the very life of God.

Not only is God our Father, we are His people! “IN HIM WE LIVE, WE MOVE AND WE HAVE OUR VERY EXISTENCE” (Acts 17:28).
