I assume he is saying that the majority of mankind do not know who he is, and have made up a false rendition of him or have not bothered to find him at all. They will perish as he does not know them. The churches are full of part time christians (at best) who go to a church building every Sunday then forget him until the following weekend. They make no effort to find the truth as they perceive they have already found it in the world.
