...me.
Hello to all the members here. My name is Steve. I live in NC, apparantly for a few years at a time,as this is my third timeback to this wonderful state. Been back 10 years goin on 11 so this is my longest stretch yet. I found this sight doing a cursory search on Biblical prophecies and picked up the Bible Prophecies thread by Chad.
I'm an amature apologist, but with two very young and energetic boys and work, find it hard to find time to read many books on the study. Actually, I've started quite a few and finished, well, hehe, not so many. If there's any other apologists on here, I would love to get to know you and discuss some aspects of it.
I also enjoy playing pool, but haven't played in a few years since I've found that time with my wife and kidsis much more enjoyable and less expensive. I play a little guitar(who doesnt) and write a little poetry when the mood hits me. I have a Facebook page and am always looking to add fellow Christians as friends.
God rescued me from a very serious moment in time in my life, adn I later accepted Christ as my saviour. I will be asking for prayer from time to time, as I struggle daily with my walk with Jesus, even after all these years.
My wife and I are not members of a church at this time, but are moving torwards that direction. We have tried a few, but both being raised Baptist, have stuck to those type churches. We're just not sure what exactly we're looking for in a church, so we get discouraged at the thought of being dissapointed week after week trying new ones out. We do know that we have no experiences with churches that emphasize gifts of the Spirit, such as speaking in tongues, healing, prophecy, etc. so we are trepidatious when invited to attend such churches. I have no doubts that the Holy Spirit still moves in such ways, but having no experience with it, we are frankly quite worried about getting involved in such a church and finding out later that the church is not quite what it professes to be.
I just want to find a Bible teaching and believing church that is not caught up in man-made doctrine, active in it's membership and in the community so we can participate in working out our faith, with an emphasis on reading the Word and encouraging heartfelt worship.
Anyway, that's me. I'm glad to be here and look forward to meeting all of you. God bless and see you out in the boards.
