I find the muslim assertion that Christians,Jews and Muslims all serve the same God,with the name Allah as just an arab name for God.

However, the book of exodus is very interesting on this issue:-

"...And God said to Moses, I AM WHO I AM and WHAT I AM, and I WILL BE WHAT I WILL BE; and He said, You shall say to the Israelites: I AM Has sent me to you!

God said also to Moses, This shall you say to the Israelites; The lord, the God of your fathers, of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob, has sent me to you! This is My name forever, and by this name i am to be remembered to all generations ( Amplified bible-exodus 3;14-15,itallics added)

Notice what God Himself,The God of Moses says "This is my name forever..." So much for Allah! Also notice in Malachi 3:6:-

"..For i am the lord, I do not change; that is why you, O sons of Jacob, are not consumed...."Amplified translation

The Prophet Muhammad longed for the Medinan Jews to accept Him in the succesion of their prophets, something that they reasonably refused. The Surah of the Cow is a testament to the Prophets anger at their denial of him.

Christianity differs from Judaism in its assertion that Jesus is The Son of God who has come in the flesh. It claims He is the Messiah, something that God must prove to the Jewish nation in Christ's second coming.Alot of Prophecies from the new testament period clarify Christianity's assertions, but God has left the messianic prophecies to be fulfilled at His choosing.

Islam makes alot of claims, but anyone who researches into The Prophet's utterances will be puzzled by the "satanic verses", sections of the koran that assert the prophet's calling for the worship of heathen goddesses.Who were the source of the prophet's utterances? i do not know.He claims to have seen spirits tear up his insides in a vision once witnessed by his mother, as if the spirits were looking for something.Quite horrifying if you ask me.

The bible says:-

"..for satan masquerades as an angel of light..." Hmmmmm.......

If anyone has more insight on this issue, feel free to air your opinion.

Well God translated in different languages will differ.
When I sing in Spanish I say .Dios.

Jim Jones claim to worship God, unlike Mohammed he probably read from the bible. Now here’s the twist he then claims to be the reincarnation of Jesus. So he may be demented but he's using the Bible the word of God for his foolishness.
His cult was fashioned by the " Real" God, but Jim Jones like most cult leaders had to direct the worship to himself. Bringing in his own philosophies on how his followers should worship. By now its to late his charismatic speeches won them over. There was no denying their new Jim Jones was their new God. They probably didn’t know it, some probably called themselves Christians. But the fact is Jim Jones was a false prophet we know this because of the mass suicide he conducted resulting in 900 dead.

It it likely that Mohammed may have fashioned his group by the ‘’ real ‘’ God, but historians can challenge that.

Islam's origins have been traced back by scholars to the ancient fertility religion of the worship of the moon god which was always the dominant religion of Arabia. The moon god was worshipped by praying toward Mecca several times a day, making an annual pilgrimage to the Kabah which was a temple of the moon god, running around the Kabah seven times, caressing an idol of a black stone set in the wall of the Kabah, running between two hills, making animal sacrifices, gathering on Fridays for prayers, giving alms to the poor, etc.. These were pagan rites practiced by the Arabs long before Muhammad was born...(chick)

Like Jim Jones, Mohammed brought in his own philosophies, leaving you to wonder who is his God.

Muhammad taught his followers to oppress or kill non-Muslims. Generally, Jews and Christians were allowed to live as such, provided they paid a special tax. This tax is Jizya, a tax revenue given to the Muslims to make up for revenues they lost from no longer dealing in pagan activities. If the Jews and Christians refused to pay this extortion tax they would have to convert to Islam or be killed. Non-Jews and non-Christians, such as idolaters or pagans, had to convert to Islam or be killed. Generally they didn't have the option of paying the tax. Here is the verse that teaches Muslims to oppress Jews and Christians:

"Fight those who do not believe in Allah, nor in the latter day, nor do they prohibit what Allah and His Apostle have prohibited, nor follow the religion of truth, (which is Islam that abolishes all other religions ) of the people of the Book, (meaning the Jews and the Christians ) until they pay the Jizya (the tax imposed upon them) with willing submission and feel themselves subdued . (with humiliation and submission to the government of Islam.) 9:29."

(Commentary in parenthesis is from the Tafsir Al-Jalalein. i.e., Al-Jalalein’s Interpretation of the Koran.)

When you look at the different attributes of Allah and God they are very different. God is a personal God who dwells in us and we are created in his image. Whereas it is impossible for Allah to be likened to humans or dwell in us because muslims view this as associating Allah with qualities of an animal.
Allah is unknowable whereas God allows a way for us to know him through Jesus.
Of all the 99 names for Allah in the Qu'ran not one of them descibes Allah as a loving god, where for Christians God is love.
When comparing God of the Bible and Allah it is impossible to conclude that they are the same God.

great post

Hezbez great observation. Allah always talks of ways to please him. Very humanistic. (Satanic)

Our God had a son named Jesus. Allah did not have a son named Jesus. So can't even be close to the same God. However, calling Allah a god takes thing to far, as Allah is not even a god, but some goofy satanic garbage Satan came up with.

Jesus Is Lord.

Something else to think about: Muhammad came after Jesus, which would imply that Jesus's sacrifice was not enough to save us, and that Jesus Himself is not God, just a good man.
So then we're back to the fig leaf in the Garden of Eden- we must hide our sins so God won't find out and now we must work for our salvation.
Ask a Muslim to explain 'grace' and see that the meaning is different. Grace from God, a 'free gift,' is foreign to all religions and this freedom is found by us only because of Jesus.
