"For from him, and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory for ever! Amen" (Ro.11:36).
From Him - the Source
"...yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live" (1 Co. 8:6).
Jesus is the source of all things (James 1:17), so for our lives to work properly, we must find our source in Him (Jer. 2:13; 17:13).
Jesus is the author of eternal salvation (He.5:9). That means when we need salvation, we seek the Saviour.
Jesus is the author of our faith (He.12:2). Therefore, for true faith to operate, our focus must be upon Him. Faith is not trying to believe. Faith is acknowledging Jesus as the source of our lives.
Jesus is the author of our righteousness (Ro.3:21; Phil. 3:9), so we must look to Him in order to stand clean before God.
Jesus is the author of the new creation life (2 Cor.5:17-18). He is the starting point for everything in our lives.
Through Him - the Power
Jesus is not only the source of our life, but is also the enabling to live that life.
"And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might..." (Col. 1:10-1).
This "incomparably great power" that is available to us is the same mighty power which raised Christ from death (Eph.1:19-20). We are able to face the enemy of our souls - satan - and stand unmoved, because we are "strong in the Lord, and in his mighty power" (Eph.6:10). His grace (which means "the enabling power of God") is sufficient for us in all circumstances (2 Cor.12:9).
Through Jesus we have the victory (1 Cor.15:57).
Through Jesus we always triumph (2 Cor. 2:14).
Through Jesus we are more than conquerors (Ro.8:37).
Through Jesus we bear fruit to the Father (Jn. 15:5-8; Phil.1:10-11).
Through Jesus we can do all things (Phil.4:13).
"For in him we live and move and have our being..." (Acts 17:28).
To Him - the Goal
"I am the Alpha and Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end" (Re.22:13).
In all things, Jesus is the goal of the whole Christian life.
Jesus is the goal of our faith (He. 12:2).
Jesus is the goal of our life (Phil.3:9-10; 2 Cor.5:9).
