In ancient Rome adoption was occasionally used by the emperors to pass on succession to a competent heir. Agustus Ceasar was adopted by his great uncle Julius Ceasar.

Other notable adoptees include emperors Tiberius, Trajan, and Hadrian. All proved to be strong rulers because each lived following the pattern of their adoptive father.

All Christians are adopted. Jesus alone is the "only begotton son" of the Father; begotton not created. We are all greatly indebted to God through Jesus for His grace and favour toward us. "For you hath he quickened who were dead in trespassers and sin" Eph:2.1. Rom.8:15.
Gal 4:5 "So that He could adopt us........" NLT

We now live in such way as befits His children. All values, activities not in keeping with such a position as Gods children must be forsaken. Col.3:5.

Paul wrote "Put on tender mercies kindness, humility, meekness lomgsuffering....ect.

Can folks around tell that we are children of the king? Do we need to ask Him what we need to put off?

I once was an outcast stranger on earth
A sinner by choice and an alien by birth
But I've been adopted my name's written down -
Now heir to a mansion, a robe and a crown.

I'm the child of a king Hallelujah............
No longer I roam, for my soul faces home,
I walk and I talk with the king.

This made me tear up. I am also adopted, by my grandparents.
When I was first adopted, I didn't look at the positives. I saw only
negatives, and how I wound up a town away in the first place.
I thought, "No one loves me, not even my own mom wanted me."
That might have been the case a little bit, and sure my mom messed
up, but I should have thought, "I am so loved, my grandparents
actually wanted me! They love me enough to want to care for me
and make sure I do great in all I do."

Knowing that Jesus ADOPTED me, chose me before I was even born,
to be His own child...it really makes me cry tears of joy. Even
if I had been an orphan, and given over to the government, I would
still have been wanted by my Heavenly Father. I never had my real
father in my life once I moved to Florida when I was three, but
that doesn't mean I was ever fatherless. And besides, My Heavenly
Father can provide for me and love me more than any earthly father
ever could. :heart-animated:
