Admit It! - April 14, 2007

Ever since my mid-forties I have noticed some subtle yet significant changes about me. My energy level isn't what it used to be, I tire more easily, my pace seems to have slowed a bit, (ok, a lot!), and keeping fit and trim has become a real challenge.

Challenge?

That's putting it mildly!
Ok, I must come clean. I need to lose a good thirty pounds!

If you think that is easy for me to publicly reveal, you are wrong, and I know that the majority of women especially reading this Daily Wisdom, will be able to relate to what a sensitive and often embarrassing issue this can be for us females.

Admitting the truth about ourselves isn't always easy because it forces us to come face to face with our flaws, inadequacies, and perhaps even our sins.

No one wants to admit they are a liar, thief, adulterer, greedy, given to lustfulness and sloth, but without this type of reality check we will remain lost in behaviors and mind-sets that are destructive to our self, others, and most of all, our relationship with God.

Prayer: "Dear God, I am ready to look in to the mirror. Please show me the truth of who I am, even if it stings. Give me a new heart, God. One that hungers and thirsts after righteousness, and whose desire is to please You. I am ready to shed the former, and to reveal the cleansed and renewed. This I ask in the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ. Amen."
