To often in our rush to perform for God we simply fail to enjoy His company.
Where else but in His company can you truly learn the love that surpasses all human knowledge- a love that goes far beyond lists, and letters, and books, and debates and sermons, and all other religious dates and duties (concerning Him)...a love that is able to fill you with the very fullness of God?
Are you abiding, or are you only performing for a God that is at a distance...does your 'knowledge' about Gods will keep you too busy to simply enjoy Him...to drink in His love...to let HIM DO FOR YOU what He longs to do? Then it can be said you do not understand Gods will, and you have confused His will with your own, or that of others.
Oh to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that I may be filled with all the fullness of God!
The word abiding means to “be at home” in God’s love, to be convinced of your acceptance as a member of His family in good standing, to be at peace there, to be fed and nurtured by His presence, to feel protected knowing it’s the safest place on earth you’ll ever be.
Abiding is all about the most important relationship in your life.
In abiding you seek, long for, thirst for, wait for, see, know, love, hear and respond to Him. Abiding means more of Him in your activities, thoughts and desires. Too often in our rush to perform for God we simply fail to enjoy His company. Yet we were created to be incomplete with anything less.
That’s why David wrote, “As the deer pants for the water brooks, so my soul pants for You, O God” (Ps 42:1)
Eph 3:14 For this reason I bow my knees before the Father,
Eph 3:15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named,
Eph 3:16 that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being,
Eph 3:17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith--that you, being rooted and grounded in love,
Eph 3:18 may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth,
Eph 3:19 and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
Joh 15:1 "I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser.
Joh 15:2 Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit.
Joh 15:3 Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you.
Joh 15:4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me.
Joh 15:5 I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.
