A note of Introduction

Hello.

I discovered these forums recently, and have been reading them with great interest ever since. I would have registered earlier, except I was put off by reading the 'muslim on board thread.'

Now I've joined, though, I think that a note of introduction is neccessary. I am an agnostic, and have come here to try to understand the idea of God. I have lots of questions, but do not know whether to post them here, because I don't know whether they would be considered debates or discussions :coocoo:.

That thread you responded to is 3 1/2 years old and your offended by one person who quoted Scripture to someone else? So blaming the entire site's reputation on something you disliked from one person is very wrong. Think about that before you make comments.

Also, GOD is not an idea. He is your Creator.

Also, if your an agnostic and assume GOD is an 'idea', why did you sign up with "AlphaOmega"? I'm sure you know that's one of Jesus' titles in the Bible.

Please accept my apologies for that, I misread the year. I am also sorry if I caused offence to you/others, I was angry and replied in haste.

When I said the idea of God, I think I meant your interpretation of God (still not the word I want) - I thought that no human can truly know God because he is something more that our minds can imagine. My ultimate interest is to try and understand as much as I can about life, people, and their beliefs.

And I chose the name because it was the first one that came to mind, although I am aware that Alpha Omega is one of Jesus' titles, as you say, but it didn't occur to me at the time.

I have just read your posts and welcome.

You say I thought no human can truly know God

Seek Him and you will find Him there waiting for you. The Bible syas He is the rewarder of them that diligently seek Hom.

You may say you are agnostic but you don't need answers or knowledge...just a simple faith. As Chad said in his post just have an open heart.

I know the Lord, He is real and He is the Lord of my life. I know He is there because He guides and directs me.

I sincerely pray that you seek the Lord and accept HIm as Lord of your life. It's the most important decision you will ever make in your life.

AlphaOmega, I'm glad you're here and I hope you keep coming back. When we speak of "knowing" God, we are not referring to having complete intellectual knowledge (understanding) of Him.

We believe that while a complete understanding of God intellectually is impossible, we can have a personal relationship with Him because He desires it strongly. So, for us, "knowing" God means having such a relationship with Him.

Alpha, I truly appreciate your honesty.
I also am glad that you are seeking Jesus, because those who seek Him will find Him. He won't hide from you.
I also know that Jesus stands up under scrutiny.
I searched for the truth, and I found it in Jesus. I pray that you do as well.
