A Man is Part of the Trinity

Bendito,

This is not correct. Jesus as part of the Trinity is Son of GOD. His humanity / man was 2,000 years ago and only 33 years long.

Is there any purpose or edification in starting a thread like this?

He's not human now?

1 Timothy 2:5
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

Jesus is a human man. But it would be incorrect to say He is only a man.
Jesus is also God. That's what makes Him different from all other men. Other men do not become God.
Jesus was already God before He was born as a human. In fact everything was created by Jesus.
Jesus is fully man, but He is also fully God.

There are many of us who are men (and women).. but there is only one God.

Yes, but a glorified man, God the Son not just any man or "a man" in itself. Between the title of your thread and your original post, it leaves to question what your whole point of this thread is. Where's the study or what's the intention?

An article that seems to do a good job of explaining this.

Jesus is a man|Is Jesus still a man, too?|Jesus Divine and Human

(Posted with Chad's permission).

:) Jesus is man, Jesus is God. He is human in a glorified body. and He is God. That makes Jesus the perfect one to be mediator between God and man. Perfect. I realize this thread hit with about force 7.8 on the Richter scale but it is very interesting to think about. I'm not looking for a fight nor am I looking to upset anyone. I just think it's really cool to think that our savior, Lord and brother is Human as well as God in the trinity

He called himself the "son of man" because the son shall not be held accountable for the sins of the Father(Adam).

He shed his blood in the earth because in man the life is in the blood.
You can't really say he is human because he is a life giving spirit and no longer needs blood, air or food and water to continue life.
A human would die without those things.

TCH What is a glorified body? Let me see...
Luke 24:39 (CJB)
39 Look at my hands and my feet — it is I, myself! Touch me and see — a ghost doesn’t have flesh and bones, as you can see I do.”
Solid flesh and bone body. OK

John 20:19
Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
Look at this! He has a solid body that can pass through a locked door! OK!

So Jesus does have a solid body...But it can do things that are not possible in an Earthly body, though I suspect that if sin had not entered in, our bodies could do that. Now we have to wait till we are glorified too That makes Him Human and God.

the man Christ Jesus

There is mortal man of flesh, bone and blood on earth, of which Jesus participated. When Jesus died he was flesh and bone, no longer a mortal man,
risen from the grave immortal and alive forever more. His body was in the glorified state on earth 40 more days. He lived under the law of Moses to the cross,
then lived among men under the law of liberty, those 40 days of bliss between the feast of Passover and feast of Pentecost. He lived under the two
covenants, the old then the new, the Jews celebrating the giving of the old. Very significant. Only mortal men are connected to the old covenant.
Spiritual men are of the new covenant through Christ, being made new creatures. See Romans 8.

My main scripture for this topic, though, is best posted in context. There are two kinds of men, natural and spiritual. The spiritual is no longer the natural.

1 Corinthians 15:39-50 (KJV)
39 All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds.
40 There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another.
41 There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory.
42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:
43 It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:
44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.
45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.
46 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.
47 The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.
48 As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.
49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.
50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

Jesus was the same before being born a man of flesh, bone and blood as he is now in Heaven, in his glorified body, in his full glory as described by
John in Revelation 1:13-16. Out of all eternity he lowered himself to our state here on earth without our knowledge of his appearance, so that he could die for our sins.

Jesus is not a natural man like us now, but was. When you can pass through a solid door intact you will know the difference.

If Jesus had the same body when He was on Earth as HE has now. They could not have crucified him. He cannot die again now. He did then The body had on Earth was solid. It had mass, and could die. In heaven his glorified body is not made of mud like ours, like His was, but it is solid, has mass, not the kind it did on Earth but it's made of, I believe, light. But it's a body nonetheless Capable of doing all it can do on Earth and more. And Jesus is still who He always was/is, a man.

The verse you shared is good. It says just what I wrote here. And what you've been saying too. We seem to be saying the same thing.

I think we are only using words a little differently but I do understand what you are saying.
The word human does not exactly fit the word "man" as described in scripture.
I feel the word human is a scientific designation that does not recognize either soul or spirit.
The word "man" seems to include flesh, soul and spirit.

We are a "new creature" in Christ so it is that new creature that we are concerned with.
No man can see God but a "son of man" can and did.

John 6:46 “No man has seen The Father, except he who is from God; he himself sees The Father.”
John 14:9 Jesus answered: "Don't you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, 'Show us the Father'?

This one born from heaven or above can see but not man.

1 Corinthians 15:45 Thus also it is written: “Adam the first man was a living soul; the last Adam - The Life Giver Spirit.

I agree..I think this is becoming a battle of semantics. Should we let it drop now? I'm agreeable.

OK, assuming all agree on Numbers 23:19 (KJV)
19 God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

while Jesus is today as much God as the Father and the Holy Spirit.

Yes He is as much God as the Father and the Holy Spirit. He's also Man

I feel like I'm bouncing off a wall. I think I'll stop discussing this subject. I hate arguing.

I didn't consider this arguing yet, but it's about declaring the truth. I read the scriptures that make it clear to me Jesus was God, very Creator, became a man on earth, then resumed his glory as very God after dying here. Since he is God he couldn't have returned to Heaven as a man, but returned as he was when leaving heaven to be born of the woman here.

As mortal men that die we can't even imagine what we shall be like, other than we shall be like him. 1 John 3:2-3 (KJV)
2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

This sheds light for me:
Philippians 2:5-12 (KJV)
5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

This same Jesus was there when the reverse occurred.
Genesis 1:26-27 (KJV)
26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

God, the "us" being Father, Son and Spirit, made a man that was not a god. He was a man and men stayed men until now.

Just think about the amazing out of this world attributes of Jesus those 40 days teaching after rising from the grave. Passing through the door intact. No man can do that. Had deep wounds but no blood, living and breathing, talking, eating vanishing into thin air, rising into the sky, No longer a man, but being changed back into glory

Your turn.

the man Christ Jesus

How about this scripture.

Col 2:9 For in him (Jesus Christ) dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
Col 2:10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
Col 2:11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:

There is no way a person can be complete in Christ were lives all the FULLNESS of Godhead, and have a "physical body!!!!
It has been "cut off" by the "circumcision" of Christ. Who dwells with all the God head in Christ? We do!!!!! Oh happy day.... :)

Of course not Curtis. Nobody said Jesus has a physical body now. HE has a glorified body now. From what I understand of scripture it can be described as solid, touchable, but is able to pass through locked doors. Its a body that can vanish from one place and appear at another place. John 20:25-27
Luke 24:13-33

Brother, I was inferring as Jesus Christ is a part of the trinity (God head) so are we since we are dwelling within Christ, and in Christ lives and dwells all the fullness of the Godhead.
We are not "the" Son of God, but we are "a" son of God. We are complete in him. No angels or any other beings lives in God (Christ), except the Godhead and his Church!

As for Jesus's "body" we know it is sown a "natural body", and it is raised a "spiritual body". When Jesus was raised from the dead he stay on earth for 40 days with his natural body showing himself to all his disciples. The same man who walk on water also walked through walls. The resurrection was not 100% complete until Jesus Christ ascended up to his Father, and not until he sat down on the right hand of God was the resurrection completed, there by releasing the Holy Spirit to come as proof that Jesus was "Glorified"
Our own physical bodies will go through a change as it is raised up as a natural body into a spiritual body. Jesus's body went through that change as he was raised up into the clouds to his Father. The description of Jesus in the Book of Revelations by John is not a picture of a man with a physical body.

Ok Lets look at two things in your argument Curtis. First the word Christ. What does it mean? It has no meaning at all in English. It is one of the few words not translated in the KJV. The word christ simply means 'the anointed one, and His anointing' Is that correct? Ok So we are in christ....We are in the anointed one. We are in His anointing. Simpler....We are anointed with the same anointing that Jesus is anointed with. And we are to walk in that anointing.
Second. Jesus told Mary (I think it was Mary) not to touch him. John 20:17 but in John 20:27 He told Thomas to thrust his hand into His side. What happened between those two verses? Jesus ascended to the Father and got His glorified body? No doubt in my mind. Why? If He had the same body that Mary was not allowed to touch, why was Thomas allowed? Something changed.
Your turn brother.....

BTW? I really enjoy talking with you.
