Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: "Whom shall I send, And who will go for Us?" Then I said, "Here [am] I! Send me." Isaiah 6:8 NKJV
Does your heart ever ache over the hurting, needy people in your neighborhood, in our nation, or around the world? Do you ever find yourself grieving over the lostness of humanity, wondering what you can do to reach them with the message of salvation through Jesus Christ? If you answered yes to either of those questions, then it may be that God is preparing you and calling you to some kind of service—just like He did the prophet Isaiah.
God had purified Isaiah and made him fit to serve and to speak the Lord’s truth to His people (see Isaiah 6:1-6). Now ready to speak God’s message to His hard-hearted people, Isaiah eagerly volunteered when God asked, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” (6:8).
God has something for you to do for His kingdom. He has given you gifts and can enable you to do what He’s calling you to do. Your part in that is spend time in God’s presence, like the prophet Isaiah, and then simply ask and listen to what He has to say to you about what He wants you to do. Then, you can eagerly answer, “Here I am! Send me.”
Prayer: Father, please give a heart to minister to those who need to hear about You.
