A handsome Jesus?

I was struck by an article on CNN today.

Called: Hot Jesus- Must He be sexy

It states that we always have to have a "sexy", handsome, well built man to play the part of Jesus. I wonder if there is some truth in that?
In the prophecy of Jesus found in Isaiah 53:2; It says that Jesus wasn't especially handsome, no one that we would particularly take notice of.
The other thing that strikes me, is that usually Caucasian actors portray Jesus. I'm guessing as a Jew, he had rather dark skin.

He was a carpenter. ( Mark 6:3; ) So he was likely a strong man, but did he look like a weight-lifter? Somehow I doubt it.

Physically and mentally strong, perhaps, but not necessarily big and buff.

He was probably short (5' 5") and thin (120-140 pounds), average looking with short hair. Probably olive or olive-brown complexion, not too dark.

A single man was able to carry his body (Joseph). Mary was a strong woman and willing to carry him all by herself (John 20:14-16).
Jesus was able to slip through crowds (Luke 4:30).
Short people couldn't see him, so he wasn't much taller or bigger than the average Jew of the time (Luke 19:4).

The weight of a Roman cross was 300 pounds. Christianity imagines Jesus carrying the whole cross - but that's not historically accurate, and most unlikely that a small man could carry 300 pounds and after being scourged. According to the practice of crucifixion, the condemned (including Jesus), only had to carry the horizontal bar, which weighed about 120 pounds. So Jesus had to carry about his own body weight, and that after being scourged, which is still no easy feat.

So to "carry ones cross", can mean to "carry your own weight". God may not expect us to do more or less than we are able to manage.

If you look at the features of the ten tribe chieftans in Assyrian captivity carved on the Behistun Rock you'll discover their physical features are Caucasian. So the idea that true Israelites must have olive skin or whatever is a myth.

The thing to watch out for in our time, for we are living in the last days when the Antichrist/false messiah will come to play God in Jerusalem and cause the world to believe it, is that he will probably be beautiful in appearance, even as Satan was made the full pattern of beauty per Ezekiel 28.

I don't see how the Caucasian features on a rock indicate skin color. Unless these were colored carvings?
Skin color is determined by the amount of melanin in the skin. Not the race. There are both brown and white asians for example, and both brown and white Caucasians.
Caucasians can have olive skin and dark hair too, there are many dark skin and dark haired Caucasian Europeans in Germany, France, England. Italians are Caucasian and have darker, olive skin.

The way of the world is to look towards the tall, good-looking guy with muscles to lead. Jesus came down from His throne humble, like a servant, and used none of the world's standards to reach His people.

He grew up before him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground. He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him.

I've actually dwelt in Spain (3.5 years), and there are Spanish Caucasians that are of northern European stock and then there are those which are mixed from the 8th century invasions of the Moors who were Blacks. Many Hispanics from Latin, Central, and South America are northern European Caucasians also because of this same fact of those same Spaniards, while others are mixed with the South American Indians. There are other features involved than just skin color also. It's evolutionists that try to make us believe the only difference between the peoples which God created is skin color.

That's true, the Biblical concept of race is based upon ancestral lineage on the father's side, whereas Darwinism introduced this idea that race is based upon biological features.
