The LORD is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation; this is my God, and I will praise him, my father's God, and I will exalt him. Exodus 15:2 ESV
Moses was in the mood to praise. He recognized God’s power in saving the people of Israel. He had learned to trade fear for faith. The people struggled to follow his example and kept making poor choices. God gave them forty years to learn that He was worth following. Some failed to learn. Maybe this lesson is a struggle for you too.
Moses was on sturdy footing with God. Most of the Israelites were not. Moses followed while the people walked away. Moses praised God while the people grumbled. As each day passed, they were no closer to possessing the land God had promised.
As you celebrate Groundhog Day, remember a nation of people who seemed to see their shadow every day and then faced more time in the wilderness.
When God wants to teach you something, make a commitment to learn. Make the change so tomorrow will be better than today.
Prayer: God, the idea of never seeing progress makes me fearful. I don’t want to stay where I am, but I’m afraid of what will be required to get me to the place You want for me. When You lead and I follow, I’m never alone n this new life with You.
