Bill, if you are truly honest, our disagreement is not about, divorce and remarriage, or whatever you are meaning, our real disagreement, is about you saying that Mary had a union with God, which the way you are saying it, implies sexual. And I don't hold strongly to your view either because the law of Moses prohibits that, and Mary and Joseph are not adulterers
So because of that union with God, Joseph would be committing adultery with Mary if he slept with her.
I do not believe that God had sexual relations with Mary, therefore Joseph sleeping with his wife, would not be sinful, would not be adultery, since she never slept with any, for she was a virgin, and still a virgin after she born Jesus, and only afterwards did she know him.
And also there is a difference between sex before marriage, which is sinful, and sex in marriage.
Sex itself does not make one married, otherwise sex before marriage should not exist.
Marriage is a commitment between two who are giving themselves over to one another, which yes, does lead to sexual relations.
