2 Peter 3:10 King James Version
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
New European Version
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief. Then the heavens shall pass away with a great noise and the elements shall be dissolved with fervent heat, and the earth and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

This refers to Christ’s coming. Many saying that His coming to two parts because He comes as a thief but is seen by all my view that I can see a thief in my house as I come home but would never expect to be robbed. No one will be expecting Jesus to return when He does. This great noise may refer to the trumpet being blown to announce the King, Jesus coming. This verse does not prove global warning but says that as Jesus returns there will be a heat; this could be from the glory His has. The earth will be burned up being destroyed.
