[h=3]1 Peter 5:3-5[/h]King James Version (KJV)
3 Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being examples to the flock.
4 And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.
5 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.
EasyEnglish Bible
v3 Do not try to rule over those people that God has given to you. Instead, do good things yourselves, so that they can copy you. Show them the right things that they should do. v4 As a result, Christ, who is the *Shepherd of all of us, will give a gift to you. He will give that gift to you when he comes again. He will give you a beautiful crown that will never become old or less beautiful.
v5 You younger men also must obey the elders (leaders). And all of you people must be ready to be like servants to each other. Because the Bible says:
‘Some people think that they are better and more important than other people.
They think that they are always right.
God is an enemy to people who think like that.
But he is good to people who do not want to be very important.
He is good to people who are ready to be like servants to other people.

3 God has left things to us; we should live in a way thattakes care of the things He has left us with. We should not mistreat or misusethe things He has given us. We should live in a way that shows Christ to thelost but should also encourage other believers in their walk by seeing ourwalk. We should not be concerned about what others think but living as Christ wantsus will set an example.

4 The Chief Shepherd is Jesus. Glory this is the reward ofthe believer. We will be rewarded for our efforts even though we do not deservethem, He gives them to us by grace, by grace we receive glory. Glory will notbe taken away from us nor does it ever end. Glory is eternal and His presenceis glory.

5 Those that are younger did to know they can learn fromthose who are older then them. Without humility there is no room for us tochange. Those that are humble can be used by Him the most. By humility we relyon Him and not ourselves. We who are younger should also take only advisementof those older a not take it as truth because they can be wrong as we can be.
