[h=3]1 Peter 3:17-18[/h]King James Version (KJV)

17 For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.
18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:

[h=3]1 Peter 3:17-18[/h]The Voice (VOICE)

17 For if it is the will of God that you suffer, then it is better to suffer for doing what is right than for doing what is wrong. 18 The Anointed One suffered for sins once for all time—the righteous suffering for the unrighteous—so that He might bring us to God. Though He died in the flesh, He was made alive again through the Spirit.

17 We as believers are to be like Christ and by doing so weshould let the Father’s will be the guide post for our lives and follow not ourown will but follow His will. Jesus prayed for the Lord’s will to done on earthas it is in heaven. It is better we suffer for doing good by following Him thento suffer for our sins. Those who suffer for doing right will be rewarded byHim, where they will not tarnish or rust. The evil doing will be punished inhell if it is not covered in blood.

18 Christ suffered for our sins in our place with His deathon the cross, this does not mean we will not face results from our actions butmeans we will not have divine judgment for our sins if we ask for forgivenessand receive Christ as Lord. This verse shows that all need Christ and none cantruly do without even though most will not see this until they receive Him. Christdied so we might live thru Him and with Him, bringing us to glory. We are deadto the flesh and made alive in the Spirit.

For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully. For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God. For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps.
