[h=3]1 Peter 2:11-14[/h]King James Version (KJV)

11 Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;
12 Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.
13 Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme;
14 Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well.

11 Beloved, remember you don’t belong in this world. You are resident aliens living in exile, so resist those desires of the flesh that battle against the soul. 12 Live honorably among the outsiders so that, even when some may be inclined to call you criminals, when they see your good works, they might give glory to God when He returns in judgment.
13 For the Lord’s sake, accept the decrees and laws of all the various human institutions, whether they come from the highest human ruler 14 or agents he sends to punish those who do wrong and to reward those who do well.

11 As believers all we should do should be done with love;Peter wrote this letter out of love and to aid and advise those He loved bysharing what the Spirit had him pen down. We are not meant for this world, weare strangers wandering around the world, when we belong and are meant forheaven and to be with our Lord Jesus. We are not be involved with the fleshlythings of this world but be involved with the things of the Spirit and thingsof the heavenly realm instead of the earthly realm. It will be a constantbattle but our spirit and flesh.

12 We are to be different than those of the world, thanthose without the faith. We are not to live a life of evil but a life that givesglory to the Lord and give Him praise. The world will see our good works and willsee how the Lord uses us. They will see us and because of our commitment to theLord they may give Him praise because of us allowing to be used by the Spiritfor the work of the Lord.

13 We are to do the things required of us to continue toserve the Lord. We are to live by the laws of the land just as long as it isnot against what the Lord has commanded us in His word and by His Spirit.

14 We may be punished for doing what the Lord leads us to do;the disciples were as well as others were. The scriptures say do not fear thosewho can destroy the body but fear the one who can destroy the body and soul.
