I'm going back to this one, because though Paul never commanded it exactly, he did talk of it, and also did it.Churches that teach for doctrine what was commanded Israel, not the body of Christ. They teach water baptism as an example. Paul never commands water baptism
[Rom 6:3-4 KJV] 3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? 4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
[Gal 3:26-29 KJV] 26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if ye [be] Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.
[1Co 12:12-13 KJV] 12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also [is] Christ. 13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether [we be] Jews or Gentiles, whether [we be] bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
This last one should actually suffice it to say that if Paul and Silas were doing it, then it is acceptable to do.
[Act 16:29-33 KJV] 29 Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas, 30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? 31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. 32 And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house. 33 And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed [their] stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway.
Now on a final note, because I'm sure you will bring up the following, I will say this is why context is important to what we read in Scripture. Isolated (v17), it would appear that baptism was not something he considered to be done, but contextually you would understand why Paul said what he said. At the time in the church in Corinth, people were being prideful concerning who they had been baptized by, as if that was of importance over the Gospel not understanding that it was an act of obedience. Paul understood the necessity of it, and what it represented. Our God is orderly, and everything has its proper place brother.
[1Co 1:13-17 KJV] 13 Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul? 14 I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Gaius; 15 Lest any should say that I had baptized in mine own name. 16 And I baptized also the household of Stephanas: besides, I know not whether I baptized any other. 17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.
With the Love of Christ Jesus.
