Well ! I am disappointed in .I have seen here so far. Why? Because I have been seeking a Room in which deeper things could be discussed. For example: Who was Jesus, before Being Jesus ? ?

Does This get attention?

Dear Deep Seeker,

I sure there are threads existing that ask this question if not with the same exact words. :)
To see if we can get this started, I'll go ahead and move this to another forum on a thread of its own to see if it will illicit any responses.

With the Love of Christ Jesus.

Peace, man! :D

Saint John chapter 1... (Capital letters for emphasis. KJV.):
"1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2 The Same was in the beginning with God.

3 All things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made that was made.

4 In Him was life; and the Life was the Light of men.

5 And the Light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not."

Sometimes in the OT, people would rightly worship the manifestation of the Spirit of the Lord as in those times it was no mere angel that appeared.

Peace of the Lord ️

Blessings to You my friend.

There is no Begining with The Elohim ! They just are. For indeed, It is stated in Genesis: "Let US create: Not, Let Me create; OR, I will create. .. .
The question is then: Who are The Us?
Jesus gave the answer to that question when He was dying on The Cross.

Father, give Me that which I had with You in The Begining! Hence: "Let US create" .

Here is seen that The Creation of Genesis 1:1 was of God, and His The one called Jesus, Who was to BECOME, The Son Of MAN.
This also opens up a new story!
For who was sent unto The House Of Israel?

Also, who was The One who was sent? It was Abel, THE SON OF THE MAN, Adam! Stop and consider This Statement!
Now insert Abel in place of The One who was to be named, Jesus!

Abel, stand on Your feet, from Your death. I will send You to The House of Isreal. THEN Abel stood up and went to the House Of Isreal. What He was is a Keeper Of Sheep. What Sheep? The Sheep of the House Of Isreal ! Here then is the true story of Who The Son Of Man really was, and Is.

Deep Seeker,
This is a topic that I would also like to delve into ...
It seems that the "missing years of Jesus" can be found in Iranian text and I guess in Hewbrew and Greek ... it is a deep topic, and an interesting one. It would be so good to ask more questions and biblical text that is not too clear. There should be no fear in asking questions and to learn together, yes?

Glad you agree.

The JW's say he was the archangel Michael. Is that what you mean?

Or is this another Trinity thread without using the word Trinity?

Rather than posting my views, I think it's best to ask what you think by this verse:

Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:
- Deuteronomy 6:4 KJV

And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:
- Mark 12:29 KJV

(It's kind of a major doctrine, no?)

Thanks I would offer the Bible defines the us that did not go out.

The "us" represents the law of Christ's powerful faith, his unseen understanding called a labor of love . . .the. . . "Let there be" and the testimony was "God alone good"

The dynamic dual. The unseen Holy Father displaying his power His testimony working in the Son of man, Jesus.

Two is the one witness God has spoken and wrote it down as law not subject to change. Two tables written on both sides with no room for oral traditions of dying mankind

It brings to mind the loving law that without parables the signified understanding Christ spoke not, hiding the spiritual or unseen gospel understanding from the lost.

In that way Parables are designed to teach us how to walk or understand the hidden eternal things by Christ's faith. Yoked with him he makes that daily burden lighter if we do not harden our own hearts

In both Luke and Mark 9 Jesus the apostle prophecies a whole series of parables hiding the unseen eternal understanding from natural man over and over again hiding the spiritual understnding . Brining confusion to the other apostles as if Jesus had gone off his rocker. They decided to elect a new alfa dog with Jesus 2 ft in front. His own family the same way .Jesus the Son of man the most misunderstood because of the parables.

After that parable in which they understood not, still confused Christ used a little child to represent the last will be first describing the us in the us that did not go out from the true us. Those who can look to the unseen eternal things of Christ .

Still confused they thought Jesus was going to the Jews in Jerusalem but went to the gentiles. They confused called on eternal God to bring down fire and consume their bodies a religious pagan foundation "out of sight out of mind" Then he rebuked them and reveled the faithless maner they were of (unbeliever no invisible powerful faith working in them).

Luke9:43-55And they were all amazed at the mighty power of God. But while they wondered every one at all things which Jesus did, he said unto his disciples,;Let these sayings sink down into your ears: for the Son of man shall be delivered into the hands of men.But they understood not this saying, and it was hid from them, that they perceived it not: and they feared to ask him of that saying.;Then there arose a reasoning among them, which of them should be greatest.; And Jesus, perceiving the thought of their heart, took a child, and set him by him,;And said unto them, Whosoever shall receive this child in my name receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me receiveth him that sent me: for he that is least among you all, the same shall be great.;And John (still confused) answered and said, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name; and we forbad him, because he followeth not with us.;And Jesus said unto him, Forbid him not: for he that is not against us is for us.;And it came to pass, when the time was come that he should be received up, he stedfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem,;And sent messengers before his face: and they went, and entered into a village of the Samaritans, to make ready for him.;And they did not receive him, because his face was as though he would go to Jerusalem.;And when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elias did?;But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of.

Without the signified tongue of parables Christ spoke not. The recipe needed to rightly divide the parables must be used. a valuable tool needed in beginning of any bible study.

Compare or mix the temporal historical with the spiritual invisible thing of Christ then we a have enter his rest a rest from our own

.

Thanks for Your reply. I appreciate It.
I am not, unfortunately, A scholar as such. Although I have spent some 55 years of more trying to learn what The Bible scriptures are teaching in depth.
Lord willing, I will do so until I too, Pass onward. Meantime: "Study to show MYSELF accepted Of God" !

Jesus always was. There was never a time "before" Jesus.

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 1:2 He was in the beginning with God.
John 1:3 All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being.

John 8:57 So the Jews said to Him, "You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham?"
John 8:58 Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I am."
Col 1:15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.

Some people take this verse to mean Jesus was "created" when the physical universe was created, but that's not what it says.
All it is saying here is... when the physical universe was finally created, Jesus was the firstborn of creation. That doesn't mean He didn't
exist before creation.

Col 1:16 For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him.
Col 1:17 He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.

Rev 22:13 "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end."

Micah 5:2 "But as for you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, Too little to be among the clans of Judah, From you One will go forth for Me to be ruler in Israel. His goings forth are from long ago, From the days of eternity."

Luke 10:18 And He said to them, "I was watching Satan fall from heaven like lightning.

What year did that happen?

I would agree .it seems to mean "the first born of the new born again creation" First of many sons of God (Christians)

Heb 7:1 For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of the Most High God, who met Abraham as he was returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him,
Heb 7:2 to whom also Abraham apportioned a tenth part of all the spoils, was first of all, by the translation of his name, king of righteousness, and then also king of Salem, which is king of peace.
Heb 7:3 Without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but made like the Son of God, he remains a priest perpetually.

This reiterates the answer to many questions. Praise Christ!

John 1:2 He was in the beginning with God.
I always wondered where they pulled the word "with" from.

(And C'mon BAC, you know you're supposed to list the translation.)

He was in the beginning PROS God.
- John 1:2 NKJV

C. WITH ACCUS., PROS expresses motion or direction towards an object: (Liddell Scott)

There's just no way that the English word "with" could possibly convey this meaning, just as "beginning" doesn't come close to ARXE, the noun used to identify the cosmic protoplasm from which all physical matter sprang.

The closest approximation would be "at the hand of".

He was suffused through the cosmic protoplasm at the hand of God.
- John 1:2 NKJV

Truth just cannot be found in bad translations created by biased institutions.

Also, who was The One who was sent? It was Abel, THE SON OF THE MAN, Adam! Stop and consider This Statement!
There's no reason to (consider this statement) unless you have some scripture to support this somewhat bizarre claim.

But I will if you do.

Heb 7:2 to whom also Abraham apportioned a tenth part of all the spoils,
Well that didn't happen.

Melchizedek awarded a tenth part to Abraham of the spoils he recovered that belonged to the King of Sodom.

(People just don't read.)

(And C'mon BAC, you know you're supposed to list the translation.)

As usual, I always post from the NASB95 unless otherwise noted.

He was in the beginning PROS God.- John 1:2 NKJV

[NKJV]
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 1:2 He was in the beginning with God.
John 1:3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.

C. WITH ACCUS., PROS expresses motion or direction towards an object: (Liddell Scott)

I do not recognize Liddell Scott as authoritative in anything scripturally. Less than you recognize Revelation at least.

Well that didn't happen.

Melchizedek awarded a tenth part to Abraham of the spoils he recovered that belonged to the King of Sodom.

????

[NASB]
Gen 14:8 And the king of Sodom, the king of Gomorrah, the king of Admah, the king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela (that is, Zoar) went out and joined together in battle in the Valley of Siddim
Gen 14:9 against Chedorlaomer king of Elam, Tidal king of nations, Amraphel king of Shinar, and Arioch king of Ellasar—four kings against five.
Gen 14:10 Now the Valley of Siddim was full of asphalt pits; and the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah fled; some fell there, and the remainder fled to the mountains.
Gen 14:11 Then they took all the goods of Sodom and Gomorrah, and all their provisions, and went their way.
Gen 14:12 They also took Lot, Abram's brother's son who dwelt in Sodom, and his goods, and departed.
Gen 14:13 Then one who had escaped came and told Abram the Hebrew, for he dwelt by the terebinth trees of Mamre the Amorite, brother of Eshcol and brother of Aner; and they were allies with Abram.
Gen 14:14 Now when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he armed his three hundred and eighteen trained servants who were born in his own house, and went in pursuit as far as Dan.
Gen 14:15 He divided his forces against them by night, and he and his servants attacked them and pursued them as far as Hobah, which is north of Damascus.
Gen 14:16 So he brought back all the goods, and also brought back his brother Lot and his goods, as well as the women and the people.
Gen 14:17 And the king of Sodom went out to meet him at the Valley of Shaveh (that is, the King's Valley), after his return from the defeat of Chedorlaomer and the kings who were with him.
Gen 14:18 Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine; he was the priest of God Most High.
Gen 14:19 And he blessed him and said: "Blessed be Abram of God Most High, Possessor of heaven and earth;
Gen 14:20 And blessed be God Most High, Who has delivered your enemies into your hand." And he gave him a tithe of all.

I suppose the question here, would be... who gave a tithe to who? But it was Abram who had the spoils of war, not Melchizedek.

Gen 14:21 Now the king of Sodom said to Abram, "Give me the persons, and take the goods for yourself."
Gen 14:22 But Abram said to the king of Sodom, "I have raised my hand to the LORD, God Most High, the Possessor of heaven and earth,
Gen 14:23 that I will take nothing, from a thread to a sandal strap, and that I will not take anything that is yours, lest you should say, 'I have made Abram rich'—
Gen 14:24 except only what the young men have eaten, and the portion of the men who went with me: Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre; let them take their portion."

Also, it seems that Abram did not keep the spoils of war, at least anything from Sodom.

Heb 7:1 For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of the Most High God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him,
Heb 7:2 to whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all, first being translated "king of righteousness," and then also king of Salem, meaning "king of peace,"

I see no contradiction here.
