'Now faith (
G4102) is the substance of things hoped for,
the evidence of things not seen.
For by it the elders obtained a good report.
Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God,
so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.'
(Hebrews 11:1-3)
Hello
@StewardoftheMystery,
This is how the writer of Hebrews defines faith, in relation to the men and women of faith he was about to list in Hebrews 11. Though as is seen by the concordance definitions in relation to the rest of Scripture (above) this definition does not define all usage.
This could be the basis of a good study, I look forward to seeing how it progresses.
Thank you
In Christ Jesus
