Which is why we are taught by the Lord Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit in us as wisdom comes from the Lord for why we should prave everything coming to us from the churches, the pastors, favorite Christian leaders and even Strong's Concordance.
Wisdom is needed here to discern how to apply the Greek word "pneuma" as spirit in how spirit is used in the verse because it has different definitions for why it does not always refer to the Holy Spirit.
The Greek words "pneuma" is defined as "from pnew - pneo
4154; a current of air, i.e. breath (blast) or a breeze; by analogy or figuratively, a spirit, i.e. (human) the rational soul, (by implication) vital principle, mental disposition, etc., or (superhuman) an angel, demon, or (divine) God, Christ's spirit, the Holy Spirit:--ghost, life, spirit(-ual, -ually), mind. Compare yuch - psuche
5590."
"a current of air; breath, blast, or a breeze" by analogy or figuratively
"a spirit, i.e. (human) the rational soul
"(by implication) vital principle, mental disposition, etc."
"(superhuman) an angel, demon, or (divine) God"
"the Holy Spirit "
"ghost, life, spirit,(-ual, & -ually ) mind"
Some translators had capitalized spirit as referring to the Holy Spirit when they should not have in John 6:63 & 2 Corinthians 3:6 and that is why the ecumenical Nicene creed of 381 A.D. is wrong in assigning the Spirit as the Giver of Life when the Holy Spirit would defer all credit and glory to the Son as the Giver of Life for that is what scripture points seeker to go to for life per John 5:39-40 since Jesus is the bread of life that gives life to the world.
John 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. 40 And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.
John 6:30 They said therefore unto him, What sign shewest thou then, that we may see, and believe thee? what dost thou work? 31 Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat. 32 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but
my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven. 33 For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world. 34 Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread
. 35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. 36 But I said unto you, That ye also have seen me, and believe not.
John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth
: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. 15 All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
1 John 2:20 But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things. 21 I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth....
1 John 2:26 These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you
. 27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him. 28 And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.
Thank you for sharing. may the Lord Jesus Christ as our Good shepherd and Friend remind us Who we are to go to in living that reconciled relationship with God the Father by and that is by the only way of the Son, the Bridegroom.
