1Co 14:14 For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays but my mind is unfruitful.1 Corinthians 14:14 For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my mind is unfruitful.
1Co 14:14 For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays but my mind is unfruitful.
That is right, praying in the spirit is not talking to a man or to the person speaking, it speaking directly to God!! (1 Cor 14:2)
Pray with his mind means INTERPRET what the person is saying in tongues. It doesn't mean to pray and sing with an unfruitful mind, and later on pray and sing with a fruitful mind.1Co 14:15 What am I to do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will pray with my mind also; I will sing praise with my spirit, but I will sing with my mind also.
I don't why anyone can not understand Pauls's answer to verse 14
What is his answer? I will pray with my spirit (speaking in tongues) and he will also pray with his mind!
How hard is that to understand?
This is ONLY in a Church setting, not in private prayer time!WHEN NO ONE IS AROUND WHO CAN INTERPRET.
Hello, a person speaking in tongues in a Church setting can also be the person who interprets!!!!WHEN NO ONE IS AROUND WHO CAN INTERPRET.
If I can take it back a step further; there are no "tounges." I suggest that when Paul was inventing a new religion for the gentiles that he borrowed the apostle/holy spirit/crowed event to borrown upon that authenticity to create an event for this new tribe of Paluline Christians to bind them together and connect them to the Christians. Like we see the attempt here to use this "tounge" event for inclusion/exclusion in this forum. The exuberance of the believer transformed into a nonsensical language can never by authenticated in Paul's tounges. In the apostle's tounges they spoke a known language. They are not the same thing at all. When believers defend tongues for private use, they are ignoring Paul's teaching on gifts are not for private use & more importantly, none of those gifts are gained by having another drink of the One Spirit that we are all supposed to share in that same testimony as baptized into one body by.
Tongues are for unbelievers. Where do you get they are for private prayer times? This is ONLY in a Church setting, not in private prayer time!
An unfruitful mind goes for anytime. You have no clue about the difference between a "ministry" of "tongues and interpretation" and private prayer time they are NOT the same!
Tongues were a gift during the time of the apostles, it was a sign, during the laying of the foundation, when the message was first being taught, when prophecies and tongues which spoke mysteries about the gospel were being given, and new knowledge was being taught, it was when God testified to what was being said, it was when the scriptures were being written..
This is done as a ministry gift.
1Co 12:28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.
1Co 12:29 Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles?
1Co 12:30 Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?
Notice: Do ALL speak in tongues? No! Do ALL interpret? No! Not everyone has a "ministry" of tongues and interpretation!
1Co 14:27 If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret.
1Co 14:28 But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.
God did NOT set everyone in the Church in the ministry of speaking in tongues with interpretation
Those who believe they are speaking in tongues nowadays don't believe they have to interpret. There are many denominations whose members speak in tongues all at once.Hello, a person speaking in tongues in a Church setting can also be the person who interprets!!!!
1Co 14:13 Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret.
NO Paul does not state this.He says to do both at the same praying session.
Paul makes the statement that tongues are for unbelievers, he also makes several statements which clearly indicate that tongues are for believers: tongues and interpretation serve to edify the church (I Corinthians 14:27-28); the individual who speaks in tongues edifies himself (1Cor14:4); Paul, a believer, prayed and sang in tongues (1 Cor14:15); to give thanks in tongues is to give thanks well (1 Cor14:17); Paul thanked God he spoke in tongues more than the Corinthians (1 Cor14:18); tongues should not be forbidden among the church (1 Cor14:39). All these verses describe the tongues of believers. If tongues were not for believers, but only unbelievers, then most of I Corinthians 14 would be in error. Those who believe they are speaking in tongues nowadays don't believe they have to interpret. There are many denominations whose members speak in tongues all at once.
Tongues was a sign to the Jews, it is for unbelievers, to cause them to believe. Do you really want to claim that unbelievers are coming in your church and hearing the gospel in their language, which is a foreign language? Do you really think that your personal prayer times with tongues is for you, a believer, when the Bible says it is for unbelievers?
So, when did all these things cease? Were the Apostles the only ones who spoke in tongues and performed miracles?Tongues are for unbelievers. Where do you get they are for private prayer times?

God already testified to the message, there are no more apostles, the foundation has been laid, the mysteries have been revealed, the prophecies fulfilled, the new knowledge was given, the sign was given, and the SCRIPTURES are finished.
If tongues were only for Jewish unbelievers then why did a gentile church in Corinth, Greece become disorderly with all of them speaking at once in tongues and showing off in the assembly ??Those who believe they are speaking in tongues nowadays don't believe they have to interpret. There are many denominations whose members speak in tongues all at once.

Do you think praying to God the Father is called private prayer?Tongues are for unbelievers. Where do you get they are for private prayer times?
Pro 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. An unfruitful mind goes for anytime.
Eph 4:11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;there are no more apostles,
Attack people? That is what you do.NO Paul does not state this.
Again you are adding to scripture. (a claim you often use to attack those you disagree with, but often do so yourself)
A person isn't to have a fruitless mind. Period.1Cor 14:15 What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.
A choice to do either one or the other - which Pentecostal saints also do.

Tongues ceased when prophecies and new knowledge ceased. So, when did all these things cease?
The apostles were not the only ones who spoke in tongues. When Jesus walked the earth, there were many disciples allowed to heal people and cast out demons. Were the Apostles the only ones who spoke in tongues and performed miracles?
All the denominations now teach falseness.Does the Church today have a perfect understanding of the mysteries of that foundation Paul taught?
Because they had the gift of tongues for the Jews too, so that Jews could hear them speaking in their foreign languages, and so that the Jews could see that the Gentiles were included in salvation too, for that is the mystery of the gospel. If tongues were only for Jewish unbelievers then why did a gentile church in Corinth, Greece become disorderly with all of them speaking at once in tongues and showing off in the assembly ??
And?Paul in 1Corinthians 14 teaches the Corinthians how to conduct themselves decently and in order as in all the churches - the voice gifts of the Holy Spirit for use in a formal worship meeting are
to be operated in a proper manner for the edification, exhortation, and consolation of the body of Christ.
A time is set aside and one person shall speak in tongues, and then this is to be followed by an interpretation [this may be done up to three times in succession]
Then comes up to three gifts of prophecy [inspired speaking by the Holy Spirit].
And this is how we operate these gifts at our church meetings in accordance with the word of God.
1Cor 14:26 What is it then, brethren? When ye come together, each hath a psalm, hath a teaching, hath a revelation, hath a tongue, hath an interpretation. Let all things be unto edifying.
1Cor 14:39 So then, my brethren, desire earnestly to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues.
40 But let all things be done decently and in order.
