@JerryfromMass
Greetings,
Please excuse my approach here, but you have bundled five bit here and i would like to briefly comment on each.
Yes, indeed.
No, not at all, it does not record any such thing.
Eve said: "God hath said..."
Because a woman who was beguiled and was fairly much part of the reason that our Lord Jesus died for you and me, said, "God hath said..." in whatever language was trending at the time, to a cunning serpent.... does not really equate at all that God told her anything at all regarding the tree in the midst of the Garden (which has a more precise definition).
We DO NOT know at all if the LORD told her or not. We DO KNOW that He told Adam, which was sufficient. For all we know, Adam told Eve. That is as possible as the LORD telling her... and perhaps even more so? Adam may have even gone on to reiterate and tell her, Don't even touch it!! Perhaps that is where she got the idea from, which would mean that she was only repeating what Adam told her, therefore, strictly speaking, not lying with any intent. BUT, that is complete presumption and we do well to steer away from such behaviour, especially when handling what the LORD said.
We have enough written for us.
Perhaps our language does not sufficiently give us the complete picture, but we do have enough and we ought to stick with that, which i think you'll agree.
I believe her.
That is your choice but has zero bearing on any actual fact, as you would no doubt agree. Obviously, if the rule is good for you it is good for everyone, and that could get rather sticky in a short time!
Many say she lied.
Many say lots of things, does that matter?
But how could she have lied if she was innocent at that time?
This is rather silly, my friend. From what i gather, Eve and Adam disobeyed the LORD and from what i understand, sin is directly linked to them. One may ask, how could that possibly happen to two innocent people?
Whatever our presumption on the matter might be, both were capable of disobeying the commandment-word-law-rules of the LORD that He had given-explained-warned Adam.
Adam pointed to Eve, Eve pointed to the Serpent. If it was all the Serpent's fault and the Serpent was more powerful than obedience, one might suggest that was unfair of God to put that on them, and then cast them out of the Garden... and have sin enter the world.
Whichever way it gets cut, the fact remains that Jesus laid down His life that we might have life, and from what i gather, that is all as a direct consequence of eating the fruit they were commanded not to.
The moment Eve gave a dot of place to the Serpent she was on very slippery ground. She saw that is looked good and it might taste good and it would make them smarter than they were (con of the age). One might ask, when did she give place?
When people do give place to the devil, they are usually shifty to some degree or another and handle the truth carelessly in order to 'succumb' to the lust of the eyes and of the flesh and the pride of life.
Thank you for reading thus far,
Bless you ....><>
