The Trinity

So let me ask you this, you serve Jesus as Lord and God as Lord and they are separate to you? So who do you love and obey? You have 2 masters?

"The Lord said to my Lord" John 5:23 "that ALL should honor the SON just as they honor the Father. For he who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him. "
First and foremost God the Father of us all, and Jesus Christ his Son as both are worthy of honor and glory

Bingo. it has to be mystically interpreted to exist.
The term, trinity, as it pertains to Christianity actually came from a second century Christian writer. However, he held that there were two beings, the Father and Son, not one. The idea of a God that consists of three persons is actually a 5th century teaching. It's not what was taught in the beginning.

"But he that is joined unto the Lord is one Spirit" "I and my Father are one" In spirit they are one, but yet still separate entities. In honoring the Son you also honor the Father.

Indeed, and used by Roman Catholicism since the Council of Nicaea AD 325 to murder or imprison anyone who saw it differently until roughly the 1800's. And the thought that Mary gave birth to God and setting her up to be the Queen of Heaven is just another example of the doctrinal nonsense, But like the Germans of WW2 they burned the books so no one could interpret for themselves, they controlled the minds of the people and the religion of the state as well. No wonder it was called the DARK AGES.

To David 1954

As you referred to enxu as a jdub. Would you mind explaining what that is? Can't find the slur on the net nor do the ones I talk to on this site seem to know. Help us out.

You all say the trinity doctrine came from some people in the past.

I never heard of these people in the past.

I just read the Bible.

I'm pretty sure we all think the Father is God.

Jesus created and sustains the universe, so He's probably God.

The Holy Spirit that is our interface with God is certainly God.

I just don't get this anti-trinity movement.

Let me show you how the disciples felt about this same question.

2 Cor 1:2 "Grace be unto you and peace from God our Father, AND from the Lord Jesus Christ."
same thing said in opening to pretty much every book Paul was credited to have written, look and see.
James 1:1 "James a servant of God AND of the Lord Jesus Christ....."
1Peter 1:3 " Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead."
2 Peter 2:2 " Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, AND of Jesus our Lord."
1 John 1:3 ".......and truly our fellowship is with the Father , AND with his Son Jesus Christ."
2 John 1:3 "Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father, AND from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love."

I believe they make it clear there are 2, God AND his Son.

Wait... does anyone disagree with that?

Jesus is God. The Father is God. The Spirit is God. Why are we arguing?

What you just said is not true. The apostles make it clear that the Father is GOD and Jesus Christ is Their Lord, they never called Jesus God.

John 16:25-26 (KJV) These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs: but the time cometh, when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs, but I shall shew you plainly of the Father.
At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you:
What do you think he means by this?

And if you will re read those verses you will notice they always gave God the first position and the Lord Jesus Christ the second. They understood.

He is saying that we will be asking our Father directly as he will not need to be an intermediary at that time for us, others yes. We are not praying in his name but asking God ourselves as children of the most high. Direct access.
