Spirituality; hit or miss with you?

I reflect much on me... my life... and those close to me even on-line
its not as weird as it may sound, most of the time I pray its through meditation. I have been accused of being not trustworthy and have twisted motives for what I believe but you know what none of that has ever bothered me. I know what I believe and that is unshakable. Like all people I have left our Lord's shelter and have been used and taken advantage of and did things I'm not particularly proud of but in the midst of those times I knew where I am welcome I didn't only know who I am but why I am. A number of times in my live I should have died a very violent death ... all at critical times in my life when I was 15 I should have been decapitated by a steel plate at a summer job ... second time was when I was rescuing street kids when I was 19 I had a gun pulled on me we both (me & my target) watched the trigger get pulled and nothing happened. We assumed that the gun wasn't loaded 2 days later I found out that the gun was not only loaded, it was in excellent working order... third was just a few years ago I should have been squished by a semi-trailer truck on a high mountain highway in January. One truck was passing a second one on a narrow 1 lane highway (one lane either way) on a double blind curve. My purpose has always been clear, and in over 30 yrs it hasn't changed. Today as in the 1st and 2nd centuries fear and superstition is still just as relevant in spreading bad information but today there are far more people who want to understand and as a result there are far more learning inaccurate information resulting in turn in people badly misunderstanding who Jesus is and why he is. even though His Ministry is so clearly spelled out. I know most people accuse me of over simplifying Christianity but the truth is it was designed so that the most simple ppl in the world would understand ... this was deliberated there is nothing complicated about it. As we live our lives people will see who we are not just by what we believe but by how we live. I am at a loss at how 2 very simple commands from God re-spelled out by Jesus and one simple philosophy can be so twisted that we become self absorbed and self righteous. The 2 commands are; Mark 12:28 >31 (30- Love God with all you heart, mind and soul/31-Love your neighbour as yourself) and the 1 philosophy is All who believes in me shall not parish but have eternal life. Jesus was non-descript about this therefore it really does apply to all people bar none! to put conditions on this not only condemns that person but all they come in contact with because they spread that same disdain
I don't just call myself a Christian but I live that way according to the way my Lord and Saviour has spelled out for me.
before you answer this question for yourself ... think about it and pray for the consequences are far more dire than you could imagine.

Spirituality, A hit or miss with you?

May our Lord keep you all well in His Will

Galatians 2:20&21
20 I myself no longer live, but Christ lives in me. So I live my life in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. 21 I am not one of those who treats the grace of God as meaningless. For if we could be saved by keeping the law, then there was no need for Christ to die.20&21

Wouldn't you agree that for us to live as Christ has commanded is to really die?

jiggyfly ... ty fro your reply but you are about to find out why i wrote this post.
Christ died, so we may have not only life but salvation ... If I had not survived any one of those 3 situations I would not be able to clear up a misconception help by most "bible thumping born agains"
In the end we all die most will die after a long life we simply pass on our torch in life. some will die young their work for the Lord having been completed but many many more will die in the darkness ... without salvation, simply because they believed someone who spoke to them about lies. Each person, after my brushes with death, that I speak to has also a new lease on life. because Jesus sent me out to live by the Gospels so I can say to you.We all must live by the Gospels. They work its a good way of live and it allows live beyond what we would normally understand. In return all I have to do is witness for Him. thats all, spread the truth correct the lies and honestly live
have a good day >>>>>>>>> agape

If I understand you right, your saying that it is your efforts in living with respect to the gospels, if so then we disagree.

wow jiggyfly. I hope we can agree on that (Christ-ian) means Christ-like. That brings us to the life of Jesus. to not believe in the Gospels which were a gift to us from Jesus, so we could follow in His footsteps wow !!!
The Gospels are all about life, back then, and now and into the future. They are a model to live and for life.

I re-read those 2 Galatians' enteries, trying to figure out how something so twisted was even a biblical entry. here is whats in my bible
Galatians 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me. ~21~ I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.
What bible do you use jiggyfly Gal.2:20 is a testimonial to life with Christ. and 21 says righteousness does not come from the law alone therefore works are also necessary. So living by the Gospels becomes critical because they are baced on the Laws of God through works. That's what the Ministry of Christ is all about. This is the only way we can hope for salvation.

This is where we disagree you say that you can live by the new testament gospels I say we have to live by the Spirit. I gave up years ago trying to please Father with my works.

Galatians 5
1 So Christ has really set us free. Now make sure that you stay free, and don’t get tied up again in slavery to the law.
2 Listen! I, Paul, tell you this: If you are counting on circumcision to make you right with God, then Christ cannot help you. 3 I’ll say it again. If you are trying to find favor with God by being circumcised, you must obey all of the regulations in the whole law of Moses. 4 For if you are trying to make yourselves right with God by keeping the law, you have been cut off from Christ! You have fallen away from God’s grace.
5 But we who live by the Spirit eagerly wait to receive everything promised to us who are right with God through faith. 6 For when we place our faith in Christ Jesus, it makes no difference to God whether we are circumcised or not circumcised. What is important is faith expressing itself in love.
7 You were getting along so well. Who has interfered with you to hold you back from following the truth? 8 It certainly isn’t God, for he is the one who called you to freedom. 9 But it takes only one wrong person among you to infect all the others—a little yeast spreads quickly through the whole batch of dough! 10 I am trusting the Lord to bring you back to believing as I do about these things. God will judge that person, whoever it is, who has been troubling and confusing you.
11 Dear brothers and sisters,* if I were still preaching that you must be circumcised—as some say I do—why would the Jews persecute me? The fact that I am still being persecuted proves that I am still preaching salvation through the cross of Christ alone. 12 I only wish that those troublemakers who want to mutilate you by circumcision would mutilate themselves.*
13 For you have been called to live in freedom—not freedom to satisfy your sinful nature, but freedom to serve one another in love. 14 For the whole law can be summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”* 15 But if instead of showing love among yourselves you are always biting and devouring one another, watch out! Beware of destroying one another.
Living by the Spirit’s Power
16 So I advise you to live according to your new life in the Holy Spirit. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves. 17 The old sinful nature loves to do evil, which is just opposite from what the Holy Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are opposite from what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other, and your choices are never free from this conflict. 18 But when you are directed by the Holy Spirit, you are no longer subject to the law.
19 When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, your lives will produce these evil results: sexual immorality, impure thoughts, eagerness for lustful pleasure, 20 idolatry, participation in demonic activities, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, divisions, the feeling that everyone is wrong except those in your own little group, 21 envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other kinds of sin. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God.
22 But when the Holy Spirit controls our lives, he will produce this kind of fruit in us: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. Here there is no conflict with the law.
24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there. 25 If we are living now by the Holy Spirit, let us follow the Holy Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives. 26 Let us not become conceited, or irritate one another, or be jealous of one another.
