My son announced in the late summer that he was a Christian, he'd been attending Church, a great Bible preaching church, pure Gospel was preached there, so I knew he was hearing the Word faithfully go forward.
I wondered at his life though shortly afterwards, I saw no changes, he even started to go back to J.W. meetings with his wife, I thought this is strange, he now has the 'truth' and he was mixing the two differant beliefs, wether it was his wife who mixed up his thinking, I can't say, but I started wondering if he really did have a 'true conversion' in the first place, well to make a long story short, turned out he didn't, as he fell away from church totally, he didn't attend her J.W. either, Praise God.
He didn't know to come by the way of the cross, he went direct to God, as if they were the best of buddies now, I only discovered on New years day as we talked as I took him home, I tried to show him that Jesus it the only way we can come, I am the way, the truth and the life, NO MAN cometh unto the Father, but by ME.
He wasn't having none of it, I really don't know what state he thinks he's in, I dare say, he wouldn't call himself a Christian no longer, but I don't know.
It's sad, to see this happen, I put it down to the J.W. influence in his life, he's away from all that now, they have seperated, it was God's will to remove him from a marraige that was violent, and dangerous, either one would have ended kiliing the other it was inevitable.
I did try setting a male friend he knew up to contact him, a really great man of God, who held meetings in his own home, and perhaps get him back that way, it didn't work, he chastised me for doing giving his phone number to him, and told me he said he'd no time to bother with him, so Jesus has it, I did what I could.
Just thought when saw this heading is 'born again' it reminded me instantly of my son, and how I really thought, a break through had come in the family, as my Uncle 80yrs and son got saved a week apart, Uncle stayed strong and died going to glory only 4 months after his Salvation.
Isn't our Lord's time just perfect.
