So you don't do anything you're not suppose to, not saying you would though. They're not hard to follow, so you should be in good shape. So how are you?

Brother you will be amazed at how many people do not bother to read the rules then complain when they get an infraction for not following the rules.

You have told us nothing about yourself in your introduction.

Do you have a personal relationship with Jesus?

God bless

That's good. I'm doing pretty good, getting ready to go to church. She means, have you accepted Jesus Christ as your own person savior?

Jesus Christ died on the cross so our sins will be forgiven, if we believe in him. If we do not accept Jesus, when we die we will go to hell and burn for eternity. So that is what you need saved from, my friend.

John 3:16
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

Revelation 14:11
"And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name."

To be saved is simple, but you must do it from a humble heart. Admit that you are a sinner and you need Jesus so your sins will be forgiven. Ask for forgiveness and believe in him with all your heart. God loves us all and doesn't want anyone to go to hell. I hope this will help you understand salvation a little bit more. I will be praying for you.

what exatly is it i need saving from?
Dear brother bearing in mind that this site is for serious Christians or those seeking to know Jesus this link will help you to see how to get 'saved'

http://www.talkjesus.com/get-saved-now/

There are some posts in the sticky section for reading also the father's love letter in the sticky will show you how much Jesus really loves you.

God knows the hearts of everybody and knows all about you. He even knit you together in your mothers womb. Psalm 139.

In the Bible it says you must be born again. This is the same as being saved.

There are different ways of talking about getting a relationship with Jesus.

John 3.
3In reply Jesus declared, "I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again."

4"How can a man be born when he is old?" Nicodemus asked. "Surely he cannot enter a second time into his mother's womb to be born!"

5Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. 6Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. 7You should not be surprised at my saying, 'You must be born again.' 8The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit."

John 14.
6Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

God bless

this is all very confusing. why is it that you think our all loving god would torture someone for such petty reasons?

The Bible is very clear. We are told to go out and tell the good news to others so that they have the chance to accept Jesus and have everlasting life.

You either accept Jesus or reject Him.

Matthew 7
21"Not every one that saith unto Me, `Lord, Lord,' shall enter into the Kingdom of Heaven, but he that doeth the will of My Father who is in Heaven.

22Many will say to Me in that Day, `Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Thy name, and in Thy name have cast out devils, and in Thy name done many wonderful works?'

23And then will I profess unto them, `I never knew you: depart from Me, ye that work iniquity.'

24"Therefore, whosoever heareth these sayings of Mine and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, who built his house upon a rock.

Romans 3.23. All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.

Romans 6.23. Penalty for sin is death.

Unless you receive Jesus you will not receive everlasting life. He gives you free choice to choose which way you go. You are spiritually dead until you ask Jesus into your life as Lord and Saviour. He will come and live in your heart by His Holy Spirit.

John 3.16 shows how much God loves you even if you had been the only person on the earth Jesus would still have died for you.

Here is the verse I was looking for.

Romans 10.
9That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

God bless

God doesn't want us to go to hell. Sin and ourself is the reason we're going to hell. Jesus died on the cross for our sins, now all we have to do is believe in him. So if we go to hell, it is our own fault. This may seem confusing to you, but just keep on praying and reading the Bible. When it is your time to be saved, God will call you. I saw you were from VA, nice state. How do you like it there?

ladylovesJesus-
you keep quoting to bible, but i've heard that there are many many bible passages that promote slavery and many other abuses. i don't understand which of god's commands i am supposed to follow and which ones i am supposed to just ignore. i know it's illegal, but am i supposed to own slaves as god has commanded. i don't understand.

Cody2-
god has not called me yet, so does that mean it's not my time to be saved yet? when will it be time? how will i know? what if i keep praying for the rest of my life but i die before anything happens?
i love va beach, but the rest of virginia [edit].

Slavery now and Bible slavery is different. In the Bible people sold themselves as slaves when they could not pay a debt and other things like that. This was the tradition of the people back in the Bible days.

If God has not called you, it is not your time. But when you understand that you are a sinner and need Jesus, that is your time to be saved. Trust me you will know when you are saved and remember you must humble your heart. I'm going to send you My Testimony of how I got saved in a private message. I hope it will bless you and maybe help you understand more about salvation.

if we ignore the slavery part of the bible, why don't we ignore the homosexuality part as well?

i still don't know what to do in case i die before god calls me.

What do you mean? How do we ignore slavery in the Bible? I believe we are well aware of it and understand that back then it wasn't based on race. We also read that homosexuality is a sin. We are not to ignore anything in the Bible, but we need to quit taking the Bible out of context to try to make the Bible look bad. You must read the Bible in context and study on the verses to understand the true meaning of the verses.

Clearly you did not sincerely read AND study the bible. Your only questioning it without understanding who GOD is. How do we understand who GOD is? First, study the bible without assuming your knowledge is all there is to know. Otherwise, your only 'wandering' in a book.

GOD has not called you, only if you have not opened your heart to welcome Jesus in it. If you do, then you'll know GOD has entirely waited for you, not vice versa. Its your choice, not His force.

Also, consider watching your language on my site. This is a family friendly site. Respect that.

Who said anything about ignoring the bible or any portion? Not GOD, not in the bible. This only goes to show you that you really do not seem sincere at all to learn about GOD and accept Jesus. You only seem to want to come up with questions insincerely. In that case, you will be a 'wanderer' for the rest of your life. Does that please you? You seem to have no problem mentioning this and that in the bible, so therefore you read it and did not care to accept it as GOD's infallible Word, or perhaps you just guessed something was wrong with what you've read without studying the answers first.

wow, automated response? why do i keep getting reminders the read the rules?

What a kind attitude. It was not an automated response, it was a nice sincere response from a moderator welcoming you to the forums. Do you talk the same way to the people you love or love you?

Do you truly seek Jesus?

What about all the truth, evidence of the Holy Bible itself?
Examples: http://www.talkjesus.com/evidence-prophecy-facts/

How about this?
http://www.talkjesus.com/evidence-prophecy-facts/9737-dead-sea-scrolls.html

Can you dispute this?
http://www.talkjesus.com/evidence-prophecy-facts/7726-messianic-prophecies-list.html

What about miracles, healings today that many Christians have witnessed? Can you deny their
own witness of these miracles to their face? Surely not.

If I were you, I'd start studying the Word instead of just reading it. Did you know C.S. Lewis
was also an atheist before he became born again? He's a well known author and Christian teacher
who has passed on to the Lord a few decades back.

Chad-
i never claimed to have read the bible. i'm not really sure why you assumed i had. i am a studier of all the world's religions and christianity was simply next on my list. i only wanted to ask questions as i am trying to fully understand it. it seems as though you are attacking me for trying to learn, and i can't understand why. i've done nothing insult anyone or to impose or imply anything. i've never had any associations with the religion and i'm just trying to figure out the things i'm having a hard time understanding. in reference to my first reply; that was just a joke. i meant it to be taken lightheartedly. no one else seemed to mind. and i'm sorry for my use of foul language. i didn't realize that word counted and a "bad" word. i'll do my best to refrain from using any innapropriate language in the future.
