Benny Hinn: Fraud

Status
Not open for further replies.
Go on YouTube and type in "Benny Hinn False". The videos speak for theirself. There is one where he tells us that Jesus is appearing physical and there is one where a man tells us how he gets people to fall. They are very interesting.

John 4:24
"God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth."

God is A spirit. There are other spirits in this world that are powered by money and evil.

1 Tim 6:10
"For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows."

GOD is my witness that I do not wish to do harm to His kingdom by judging His true prophets. In the same way I care to follow Him humbly, I must do what GOD expects - when necessary teach, rebuke, correct.

See for yourself and ASK THE HOLY SPIRIT FOR DISCERNMENT:
YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.

Judgement in terms of condemning another person is never appropriate; "Do not judge, or you too will be judged" (Mt 7:1)

Judgement in terms of discerning of spirits is important in order to avoid being duped.

Amen brother. You said it well and clear.

Jim Jones did a lot of things in the name of Jesus too. Benny Hinn has made many prophecies that did not come to pass. Especially about Jesus the Christ physically appearing on his stage with him.

Matthew 24:22-27
22 In fact, unless that time of calamity is shortened, the entire human race will be destroyed. But it will be shortened for the sake of God’s chosen ones.
23*“Then if anyone tells you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah,’ or ‘There he is,’ don’t pay any attention. 24 For false messiahs and false prophets will rise up and perform great miraculous signs and wonders so as to deceive, if possible, even God’s chosen ones. 25 See, I have warned you.26*“So if someone tells you, ‘Look, the Messiah is out in the desert,’ don’t bother to go and look. Or, ‘Look, he is hiding here,’ don’t believe it! 27 For as the lightning lights up the entire sky, so it will be when the Son of Man comes.

I believe you will find this on You Tube as well:

Benny Hinn growls and curses his critics at the Denver Crusade

Please go to this link and check this out. Also, listen to some audios of Benny Hinn. This should make it pretty clear for anyone wondering about this man.

Mymakersdaughter provided this link and several others on the first or second page of this thread.

Excellent read. Here's a portion:

But it gets worse. Not long afterwards, Hinn - in a strange growly voice that sounded like Darth Vader from Star Wars - uttered a curse on men and women who "dare to come against this ministry".
There can be no evasion of this charge. Hinn was very direct. He said "I place a curse on every man and every woman that would stretch his hand against this anointing; I curse that man who dares to speak a word against this ministry... "

This confirms the unbiblical endtimes plan as revealed in my other articles. It is believed by many in the revival that the day will come when the Church - particularly its "anointed apostles" - will stand in the place of God, as God on the earth. They will have all the authority of God to judge, to bless, to curse and to remove the "rebels" from their midst. This is what seems to have impelled Benny Hinn in Denver!
Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not. Rom 12:14

Watch this video. I personally find his voice is a little 'creepy'. I've never seen any other true preacher preach the same odd, 'questionable' ways as Hinn does to be honest.
YouTube - benny hinn the false prophet

Let us pray for discernment, wisdom, understanding by the Holy Spirit and Him alone.

Jesus never cursed his persecutors, even as he hung on the cross! He said, "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they are doing."

This whole thread has everyone's wheels turning & searching for God's truth--isn't that awesome. I have learned many things from these posts! I do know that God gives us choices & which one we chose(right or wrong) is exactly that our choice. God know's the outcome either way.

I have always be a little leary about T.V. evangelism/preachers. I guess it's just a gut feeling. We are to humble ourselves before the Lord.
"Though the Lord is great, he cares for the humble, but he keeps his distance from the proud." Psalms 138:6
"Pride ends in humiliation, while humility brings honor." Proverbs 29:23

Amen, and let us seek the Lord's face more each day! Let us pray that GOD rekindles the fire within us to seek Him with a burning heart, a burning soul, a burning fire greater than we've ever experienced before! The world will bring us down, but GOD can bring us back up.

Jesus never cursed his persecutors, even as he hung on the cross! He said, "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they are doing."

Bingo! You hit the nail on the head sister. The ONLY one who has the authority to curse is GOD Himself! All in all, GOD's main goal was = JESUS!

John 3:16
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Therefore, it is not for us to place curses on people. Not only that, why would Benny Hinn place a curse on anyone who goes against *his ministry*? Apparently, that shows its about self and not about Jesus, His Kingdom.

How *I* judge Benny Hinn

Jesus never cursed his persecutors, even as he hung on the cross! He said, "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they are doing."

This is true.

However, to say that Benny Hinn is not (like) Jesus seems an exercise in expressing the very obvious.

Being mortal, Benny Hinn gets angry...and he cursed at those folks.
Is that right? No.
Is that good? No.
Is that proper behavior for a minister (or anyone else)? Certainly not.
But does that make Benny an agent of the devil? No...it just makes him still human, still full of faults, and still quite capable of sin.

The only thing that confuses me is why anyone really expected it to be any other way.

---
As far as healing goes...

Benny Hinn has never healed anyone. He has never healed anyone. Benny Hinn is a man. Men do not heal other men.

A doctor can perform intricate surgery on your body, but he does not heal you, nor does the surgery by itself. In fact surgery is just a big wound that needs to heal and if it doesn't heal properly then it can be worse than the condition you had before you got the surgery! A good friend and every Christian on this forum or in the world can pray to the Lord God for you, but they do not heal you either. Your body may eventually heal but even you are not the one healing it.

We are men. We are all just men.

However, that does not necessarily mean that the Holy Spirit has never worked through the lips and actions of Benny Hinn for the good of some sick person who went to Benny Hinn for help. God doesn't usually deny healing to people who go to medical doctors either, even though many people go to doctors for healing without ever thinking about spiritual matters at all.:lightbulb

Benny is between a rock and a hard place.

If he believes he is acting in the Spirit to heal, but the person he touches doubts himself, or God, or Benny's ability to channel that healing Spirit ... then that person will not be healed.

Who are we to say we know which condition prevented the healing?

Do I find it odd that there are no examples of immediate healing on tape for him? But there are. People on those tapes come forward to say they were healed at his meetings all the time -- they are almost always called liars....

So if all that doubt up there can stop a healing, and all our doubt over there can stop the recognition of a healing, how can any of us be sure we know what has or has not happened?

---

As far as money is concerned, Benny probably should do better than he is, but how many of us are living (by choice) in tiny studio apartments with only one suit of clothing and one pair of shoes and no coat? The fact that any of us had the "spare change" to purchase computer systems before which we sit and write about the lives of others is very telling all by itself.

Could Benny do better about how he spends the money he's given by his congregation? Well sure. ... But do any of us want to cast that stone?

I'm not going to talk about how anyone else is spending money until I can live without a single penny. Just because my choices have left me with far fewer pennies to rub together than Mr. Hinn happens to have doesn't mean I'm pious and he's bad. It probably just means I shouldn't have maxed out my credit cards back in college! :shade:

---

Benny Hinn is rather dramatically far from perfect. I'd say he fights some pitched battles. Rather than assuming he is a bad man who does good by accident, why not assume that he is a good man who is being tempted with things most of us only dream of (oh the money, oh the popularity, oh the power to mold the suggestability of those poor saps who will just do anything for him....).

It's very easy to sit here without our hands in those pots and say that we'd do better than he is doing if we were in control of all of those things...

I don't know about the rest of you, but I suspect that despite all of his faults, Benny Hinn's "shows" have brought more people closer to God than I have.

Until I can say otherwise on that very specific and important point, I think I'll leave well enough alone with respect to attempting to rebuke him too much.

I am not entierly discounting his faults...
The man appears to be a greater sinner than I am.
But he also appears to be doing greater work for the Lord than I am.

Given that God has already forgiven all of us for all of our sins, (making us entirely equal on the former front)...then all that is left for me to examine is:

Benny Hinn appears to be doing greater work for the Lord than I am.

And that is the only ruler by which I will judge him or myself.

Your milage may very.

Janette,

I commend you for what you wrote. From how you speak, I can tell that you truly love the Lord, and you know his word. I am so new to this forum, and I already feel so overjoyed at how many wonderful people actually post here. I find that I agree with almost everything you said.

We can't judge Benny Hinn, nor speak against him. He is only human as you pointed out, and someone before you even pointed out that we need to pray for him. Completely agreed. Yes, we shouldn't keep pointing out his faults and putting him down. Amen.

The only thing I can't really agree with is that we do not question his teachings, and see if they are in accordance with the word of God. Sure, he can make mistakes, but why do we need to be mislead by them? Basically, this argument isn't about Benny. It's about what he teaches. A lot of people follow him -- they seem almost hypnotized by him. Yet, when he speaks... they are not the words of the spirit. (or at least that is what *I* am convicted of). Sure he talks good things about God, and preaches the word right 90% of the time. But even that 10% that which is not of God, is harmful. Did you know that rat poison is 99.99% real food? Only 0.01% is actually harmful, but just that little is enough to kill you. This is certainly not an attack on Benny Hinn, because I agree that is bad. This is THE questioning OF, what he teaches. The reason he receives more attention everywhere is simply because he reaches more people.

Also,

However, that does not necessarily mean that the Holy Spirit has never worked through the lips and actions of Benny Hinn for the good of some sick person who went to Benny Hinn for help.

Just a few things to be aware of about this. Nothing that comes out of Benny's mouth has ever healed a single person. At least, I feel that it is the faith of each individual person that heals them, and not Benny himself. I know you didn't mean to say that, but I just wanted to clarify that for any other readers.

Secondly, demon possessed people also have the ability to heal people.

This is what I know... God, our heavenly father is so wonderful. I do not know for definite fact if Benny is false or true. I believe he is false, but for those who believe he is true, thats fine also. Our great Lord, even uses satan for his higher causes. When people plotted to kill and crucify Jesus, satan would have certainly tought that he was winning. I don't know. From the scriptures at least, we know that satan entered Judas during the time he was betraying Jesus. So even if Benny is false, God will USE him, as God used satan to send Jesus to the cross. Because of this, we are all given a chance to be forgiven for our sins. So even is Benny is false, God will use him.

All I know is what the Holy Spirit has told me. I have not tried to understand this from my own intellect. I believe we should all pray for Benny, and also ourselves. You may not realize it, but false prophets have a very serious job to complete in satans mission. That goal is to divide, confuse and destroy the church of Christ and others. We are the Church of Christ, and look at how heated, confused and divided this discussion has become for us. Stephen even says he is disapointed about some of the things that were said here. I am not saying Benny did this himself, but his influence has obviously caused some of it at least.

The Bible clearly says in plain words,
"For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect[...]" Matt. 24:24

I don't believe we were forewarned of such things in advance for no reason. We are said to watch out, and this we must do.

Also,
"And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is not surprising, then, if his servants masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve." 2 Cor 11:14-15

The Bible also says that lots of people will go after such false prophets. Even the elect. So be weary, and do not judge from outward appearances. Ask the Holy Spirit always and seek the truth through prayer. This is the ONLY way you will know for sure. Don't believe anything anyone says, without confirming it with GOD.

Basically my point is that:
1) Benny cold be true OR he could be false
2) God will use him either way
--> so we can't judge from outward appearances
3) Many false prophets will come
--> do not follow them (but I am not saying Benny is), just ask God
4) False prophets will do great things
--> don't be fooled by their petty magic tricks and witchcraft
5) I am personally convicted that Benny is false
--> but you should find your own answers from God (Romans 14)
6) Do not allow yourself to be divided from the family because of your beliefs
7) Always make sure anything preached is in accordance with the word of God as written in the Holy Bible.

This is how I feel about this whole issue. This is a discussion forum brothers and sisters, so please ... don't feel bad about discussing. It's healthy as long as we continue to love each other, and not be blinded by pride or any other trap satan has for us. Especially, we should not quarrel.

GOD BLESS YOU ALL! :)

how else?

Just to clarify on those two scriptures I wrote down. They say that there will be false prophets right?

So my question is, how do we identify the false ones WHEN they do come? I think the questions speaks for itself.

God Bless!

I have to say that I am disappointed with some things which I have read here about this undisputed man of God. As I have said earlier he did not reach such pinnacle of world renown, by shouting hallelujah, and saying I love you Jesus.

This man has proved him-self with his own congregation of thousands of people in the first place.

This is not something in a corner. We are considering the life and ministry of a prominent world figure, and minister of the gospel.

"Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophet no harm"
I agree with brother Stephen here.

I agree with you, LLJ! I've said what I've said and now I'll say "Ta Ta!" God bless,

I too, like happycat had no intentions of speaking on this thread anymore I am sick of it now.

We need to focus on JESUS and live for Him and bring those people in darkness into His light. He does not want any to perish and He will be coming again soon.

Benny Hinn is not the only person who has been picked on for His teaching. If only we could bring into the Kingdom of God the numbers who give their heart to Jesus in Benny Hinn meetings.

I have now made a major decision in my life and I am giving my television away. I originally had sky put in so that I could watch the Chrstian television programmes and have watched a lot of different people on there including Creflo Dollar, Jesse Duplantis, Rodney Howard Browne, Benny Hinn, Kenneth Hagin and Kenneth Copeland to name a few.

Now I have no desire to watch them.

My desire is to seek the lost and help those who come into the Kingdom like we have a new born again Christian on here who desperately needs help in her walk with Jesus as she cannot get out to Church buildings to meet others.

I would rather spend my time on here helping her to grow in her walk with Jesus and see her learn to love herself so that she can then love others and accept that love that Jesus has for us down in heart. I know it took me a long time to really know His love in my heart.

God bless  :rainbow: :rose:

I think I agree with ladylovesJesus about this thread it has drawn everyone's focus. Let's talk about Jesus, not church, not religious stuff but Jesus and let's make disciples of Jesus, not church or any other religious traditions. This thread has sufficient warning in it. Even in warning people about Benny, he has become the focus and frankly he get way to much already. Benny Hinn or any other WOF (prosperity gospel) preachers do not deserve any more attention from anyone here good or bad. I say ban Benny threads all together.

Now, I would like to see more Jesus threads and I don't mean ones that talk about " my pastor is so annointed" or "my church is celebrating lent". There are plenty of forums out there that talk about things like religious traditons and any amount of ridiculous carnal thoughts concerning the Church(ekklesia) and the Gospel of Christ. This is TalkJesus so let's talk Jesus.

I was going to close the thread last night, but I waited patiently and asked the Lord to show me if I should close it or not. The sign is clear.

Thread closed. Conversation is done.

Seek Jesus, seek His Word and the Truth shall set you free

If I remember correctly, Benny Hinn is Israeli, but he is not Jewish. He was born and raised in Israel, but neither of his parents are/were Jews.
