2 Chronicles 30:7-9
7 Do not be like your fathers and brothers, who were unfaithful to the LORD, the God of their fathers, so that he made them an object of horror, as you see. 8 Do not be stiff-necked, as your fathers were; submit to the LORD. Come to the sanctuary, which he has consecrated forever. Serve the LORD your God, so that his fierce anger will turn away from you. 9 If you return to the LORD, then your brothers and your children will be shown compassion by their captors and will come back to this land, for the LORD your God is gracious and compassionate. He will not turn his face from you if you return to him."

God has shown me great things, signs and wonders, especially these past 2 years.

Like my friends and fellow moderators know, I once was unsaved, walking the road towards hell, but God ripped me away from that life, with a mighty blow and He changed me forever more.

God did not do this all on my part, I had to start somewhere, and He showed me more vividly than anyone could imagine. I do not know why I was special or singled out in this regard, but God loved me enough to change me.

One day, I was smoking outside my house. It was normal tobacco, no added ingredients. I looked down and I saw a small snake, about 7 inches long, it was a black mamba. I felt a sting in my foot, as I was wearing no shoes. I thought for sure this snake had bitten me. I took a brick and threw it on top of the snake.

God was speaking me to me in more ways than one in those few months.

I went inside, it was late. I closed my door and lay on my back. I had many thoughts, one of them was that I must submit to God.

There is a fine line that has to be drawn in my following words. I am not advocating any form of a "higher connection" with God, than what He gives us in His words.

As I lay on my bed, I knew I was going to die that night, I did not pray to live, I did not ask God to save my life. I had been through a lot so far and I said to God that I will submit to you Lord.

What is submission?

1. to give over or yield to the power or authority of another (often used reflexively).
2. to subject to some kind of treatment or influence.

In this context we can understand from a basic dictionary that when we submit to God, that we yield to Him. We say Lord, I am nothing, take over my life. When we submit to God He takes us, takes us completely and gives us even more than we could ever imagine.

What does the Bible say?

Job 22:21
"Submit to God and be at peace with him; in this way prosperity will come to you.

Romans 8:7
the sinful mind is hostile to God. It does not submit to God's law, nor can it do so.

James 4:7
Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you

We can understand from these verses that a person who is unsaved, has not and will not submit themselves to God. God is always the catalyst, He steps in via thought or a message through another person and directs our paths.

As I lay on my bed, I was thinking of Jesus on the cross, I was thinking of my Savior. I said Lord, I don't know if I will die tonight, I don't know Lord, but if it is in Your will, please take me Lord.

I lay and closed my eyes and I had a thought as clear as day to give myself completely to the living God, I did just that. I felt my spirit sagging down and I felt a warmth I can never explain. I fell asleep and woke up the next morning. I was a Christian at the time, but God needed full submission from me.

Who was the ultimate example of full submission to God?

Luke 23:46
Jesus called out with a loud voice, "Father, into your hands I commit my spirit." When he had said this, he breathed his last.

What did Jesus tell us to do?

John 12:24
24I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.

Romans 6:11-14
11In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. 12Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. 13Do not offer the parts of your body to sin, as instruments of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer the parts of your body to him as instruments of righteousness. 14For sin shall not be your master, because you are not under law, but under grace.

Offer yourselves to God my brothers and sisters. This entire message I wrote today is explained very well in Romans 6. If you truly say that you have died to sin, did you commit your spirit to the Lord?

Did you die to sin and say God, take me, I submit to you and I want you to me make me whole, I offer myself to you Lord. You may be a Christian for 20 years, you may have died to sin, but that sin still has roots, because you have not submitted to the Lord yet.

Submit to God in all you do, don't let a horrible event like mine happen before you make the right choice. Speak to God today and say Lord, I am nothing, but I want to die like that seed, because I want to have many seeds and fruits for you dear Lord.

Amen

Very well put together brother teraside.

Great information and scriptures with it too.

God bless you for your obedience. :rainbow: :rose:

I hope it makes sense to everyone, in essence I'm saying, die to sin > by offering yourself to God and commit your spirit to the Lord, so you may become like the seed and have many seeds.

God bless

That is such a deep moving declaration you made here brother. I read this twice and could feel how the Lord worked with you that night. You are a blessed soul.
When you got rid of your pride that is when God entered your life and so should we all do. We have to commit ourself in absolute submission to the Lord then only will we have the Spiritual freedom we all seek.
Stay blessed as you are a blessing to this site.

Sanctification. You offered your whole self to the Lord.

Some people stop at salvation. Then they don't go any further. They remain baby Christians for decades.

Praise the Lord for this testimony, teraside. You are a blessing. Be blessed.

I'm glad this thread meant something to someone. I think it should be read by anyone that struggle with dying to sin.

God bless you brother Zulu and sister Dreamer, thank you for the kind words.

Much love

Thanks for this message Teraside and for opening up your heart to us.

I think most of us struggle with this, as we see it all around us, most of us just doesn’t let go. If we do not completely and fully submit ourselves to God we will have problems, which will hinder us in having that perfect relationship with God. If we just let go of everything and submit ourselves fully, life would be so much easier and God will guide us and mold us gently.

I know my faults and where I go wrong and I sometimes wonder why I put myself through all that. I do have my days when I feel really good and I feel as if I am in Heaven already and at total peace. Those days are wonderful.

Someone on here had a signature, which came to my mind as I was writing this message. It went something like this “I am not where I am supposed to be, but I am not where I used to be” If I look back, especially in the past year, God has worked wonders with me and I sometimes forget that. I don’t see the changes, but when others point it out to me, it becomes more real.

I give all the glory to the true living God, coz no one else can do such a perfect job as He can.

And He does that to each and everyone of us, molds and shapes us to be more like Jesus. The power of Gods spirit is amazing, real and breathtaking.

Joyce Meyer says. 'I'm not where I need to be, but thank God I am not where I used to be; I'm OK, and I'm on my way!" I now know with all my heart that God is not angry with me just because I have not yet arrived. He is pleased that I am pressing on, staying on the path. If you and I will just "keep on keeping on," God will be pleased with our progress.

God bless  :rainbow: :rose:

Thanks ladylovesJesus. I knew I had read that somewhere. I do read the Joyce Meyer books and her devotions, I read them and re-read them. She is coming to South Africa in October, coming to a place thats only 20 minutes drive from me. I am really looking forward to seeing her.

Wow that is awesome she is such a great teacher for God.

Her mission to reach the world is marvellous and I have some of her books too.

I heard her say that phrase sometime ago when I was watching her on one of her TV programmes.

God bless  :rainbow: :rose:
