I read this joke somewhere and i think i should share it as i remember it.I may not use the exact words.

The parents of this boy had been trying very hard to help him with mathematics but nothing seemed to work. He had trouble passing maths. So they hired a tutor and did all they could, but no improvement.

So, they decided to take him to a mission school. Suddenly, the boy was always in his room reading. After school he went to his room and read, he'd join his family for dinner and rush back to his room to read more. So the parents kept wondering what had brought about the change. At the end of the term, the boy gave his parents the results slip which showed he had passed well in maths. So they asked him how he did it. He said,"when i walked into that school and saw the man they hanged on the plus sign (Jesus on the Cross), i knew they were not joking".

Oh, dear, oh dear. I must admit that I did a lot better at St. Ambrose for grades 1-8 than I ever did at public school for 9-12. Possibly because the nuns were so much more persuasive (terrifying?) then the secular teachers. Still, a good one.

Good One!!

Grew up going to catholic church and did wonder some times why the crosses were with Him and not one was empty.

I now thank him for HIS sacrifice and for the hope of HIS resurection.

I agree, Jesus should not be portrayed on the Cross for He is RISEN and ALIVE! Thank you Jesus :)

My family are entirely catholics, very annoying if you ask me. The traditional nonsense, the "saints", the "father priests", etc is all nonsense.

I am also born in a caatholic home. But thankfully, i have found a new life. Am trying hard to talk to my loved ones about christ even though its hard (catholics sometimes just want to believe what they have been taught). But we should not loose hope because we need our loved ones who aren't born again to know that its only through christ that we can have eternal life.

That was a good joke. I was a Southern Baptist kid growing up in a Catholic school. Needless to say I was very confused about religion as a child. I'm sure my Catholic religion class teacher got tired of me questioning everything. But it was a really good school and it helped prepare me for my college in more ways than I ever would have gotten in public school.

It's really interesting to note that people who believe in nonsense(My family are entirely catholics, very annoying if you ask me. The traditional nonsense, the "saints", the "father priests", etc is all nonsense. - Chad) seem to be good educators!(But it was a really good school and it helped prepare me for my college in more ways than I ever would have gotten in public school.-CrossPower) (Oh, dear, oh dear. nice Joke But i dont believe in a religion But I believe in the TRUTH ( The Bible ) and Jesus rose from the dead and lives in all of us as the Holy Spirit.....Praise God for His Sacrifice......God Bless You

I agree

I am one of the few Protestants who used to be Catholic that I know who does accept that you can be a Catholic and a Christian. I also Believe that about the Orthodox Church. But I also belive that you can belong to all three branches of the Christian church and still not be saved. I have after all met saved, sanctified, saintly born again sorts in all three, and total jerks who seem to have missed the point in all three. And of course, every survey, poll and study does agree that Catholic schools are doing a better job than public schools.

Wow

Funny joke. I am amazed at all the folks here that have overcome Cathologinitis. I believe too, that it is terrible to portray Christ on the cross, the crucifix. I think my Heavenly Father would hate seeing even images of His Son, on the cross still.
I love to see an empty cross. It shows that Jesus isn't there anymore. He has risen!! I have a catholic family too and they will never talk to me about God. They think that I am so very wrong and obsessed with God. I am in love with God, big difference.
I think we should all pray for our catholic families, that they may someday come to know the Lord.

# Mark 16:6 (Whole Chapter)
And he said to them, " [Mark 9:15] Do not be amazed; you are looking for Jesus the [Mark 1:24] Nazarene, who has been crucified [Matt 28:6; Luke 24:6] He has risen; He is not here; behold, here is the place where they laid Him.

Let us all speak of a risen Christ.

p.s. I used to believe in the catholic church. I wouldn't look anywhere else. I believed that all religions were phony but the catholic church. I was vain in my belief. Thank You Lord, for humbling me. Amen:Pixie:love: :sun: :rainbow:

Funny joke that has resulted in some very interesting dialogue. Thanks for including the scriptures pixie, I have always loved that scripture. Yes, our Lord is NOT on the cross, He is risen! I know some Catholics who have a crucifix in every room in their house! It has always distrurbed me because I feel the continued depiction of Jesus on the cross is a direct denial of His resurrection. That would be the same as showing Him lying in a casket. Praise be to God, He lives!!!!!
