May Jesus fill us with his love and wisdom

I don't think that I would use evil in the same sentence as calamity, is Calamity would be something like a disaster. Like a hurricane or earthquake or something like that. And if you consider that evil then that's a type of evil in a sense that it is a disaster. But it's not evil in the sense of a being. A Being as a demon something that wishes to destroy you by means of your spirit and soul.

I know in the Scripture there are times where God is talking in the Old Testament and he talks about how the people of Israel have started worshiping other gods or doing great evil, and then he goes on to say that I'm going to bring Calamity down I'm going to bring disaster upon disaster because of your Disobedience and so on.

So I asked you in your research do you find that when God is talking about the evil that mankind is doing versus Calamity and disaster are you finding different types of words?

We are dancing around facts. Calamity's like hurricanes can be blurry examples.

Let's focus on the Ebola virus. Nobody on this planet would say it is a good thing. It is evil. God created it. Yet God is not evil for creating it as it is attached to the sin of Adam and Eve. Mankind's sin. In Eden before mankind sinned, nobody would get it.

no, you are as good as dead to me when you say God gave us evil as a gift.

maybe he will end your life as a gift to you.

You can't even focus on a post when asked to. Now your topic of discussion is my death?

If you ask someone what 1 + 1 is, and they reply with 2, you either agree with them or state that it is 3 and properly explain why. That is discussion 101. But you don't do that. You say it is 3, and change the topic to discuss 2 + 5 and 3 + 8, then to my death.

You run from real engagement and debate. You need to work on yourself and try be better. At the moment you come across like nothing but a troll.

(This was in regards to the original post can God do evil)

I like your wife's reply :) .

''Is God evil???''

''Are you stupid, what a dumb question!!!!''

It's not really a dumb question as God created everything that exists and clearly both good and evil exist.

But, having said that, I am very glad that you think it is dumb. It shows that you know God better than most of the population, including many Christians. I agree that a professing Christian should know that God is only good.

Now please, help me, go through posts from other Christians on this site and rebuke all those who teach that God is evil !!! ;)

When I get some time I will link some of the threads I am referring to.

thank you for being a voice of reason.

You are failing at grasping her point. She is making the point that God is not evil. What a silly question. Why don't you ask her what she thinks of your personal theory of God sending children and mentally impaired to eternal hell .

God created the ability to choose to be good or evil. When he made everything, God said it was good. But anytime after that, the choice to be good or evil created evil. Did God create beings that might become evil with His gift of free will, yes. Did God create evil? No!!

I agree that everything God created was "very good" (Gen. 1:31).

But Scripture also says, "I form the light and create darkness, I make peace and create evil (ra)." (Isa. 45:7)

So I don't think we should be afraid of the wording Scripture uses. The Bible never says God does evil. It repeatedly says He is righteous. But it does attribute the existence of evil, calamity and judgment to His sovereign work.

Thats simply because God "knows" that giving creation the free will He did would end up with evil beings who chose unwisely. He knew this and simply owned up to creating the being who became evil sometime after being good to begin with. God did not create anything initially evil, He simply wanted free will for His creation and knew evil would come from it, and wasnt afraid to admit it.

We are in full agreement. Just talking past each other.

God is righteous in all His ways Psalm 145:17.
God is light with no darkness in Him at all 1 John 1:5.
It is unthinkable that God be evil and unjust Job 34:12.
God is good and His mercy endures forever Psalm 136:1.

Because God is good, He needed to give a highly intelligent being like us (and angels) Heb 2:7, true free will, the ability to know good and evil Gen 3:22 and the space and time to exercise this free will Psalm 90:10 within a world He created for us that has both good and evil.

Without God there would be no ebola virus. Fact. It is our job as Christians to help the lost understand that even though the ebola virus exists, God is not evil for creating it.

I believe that the lost do believe that God is a mix of good and evil. When we grasp that God is only good, it is life changing.

those were your words, not mine.

Everyone, even the mentally ill, including your arbitrary definition of "truly mentally ill" are tested according to their ability.

There are no truly mentally ill people that get a second chance at accepting Jesus. for that, you need re-incarnation to be a thing.
