Here is the KJV

[John 16:17 KJV] "Then said [some] of his disciples among themselves, What is this that he saith unto us, A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me: and, Because I go to the Father?" ********** In John 16:16 Jesus says he goes to the Father, In v17 the disciples repeat what Jesus said; Jesus said he goes to the Father and they repeat it in v17.
In the ESV in v16 Jesus going to the Father is missing, but the disciples are repeating that Jesus did indeed say it in v16. This proves it was there and removed.
