[John 3:5 KJV] "Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and [of] the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God." ********* Jesus is saying that to enter the kingdom of God they had to be born again. The kingdom of God was the prophetic, promised millennial kingdom on earth. Christ will sit on David's throne and rule from Jerusalem. Believing Israel would reign with Christ as priests.

[John 3:7 KJV] "Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again." ********* The nation of Israel had to be born again.

[John 3:16 KJV] "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
[John 3:17 KJV] "For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved."
[John 3:18 KJV] "He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." ********* To be born again Israel had to believe on the name of Jesus by believing he was Christ, the Son of God.

Being born again has been popularized to describe a believing Christian. You can use that term, but just realize it's not scriptural. Only Israel had to be born again.

i'm reminded of a rather interesting exchange i had on an island my brother and i sailed to. met an old man, 70 something years. he mentioned he was the first to bring digital editing effects into the porn industry back in the days of vhs and made enough money to buy 5 houses.

he mentioned he is a christian and loves the spiritual high that he gets from singing worship music lyrics. i'm like: not buying this is legit. so i tell him words along the lines of "feelings are great but what are you doing for God, why not ask him what to do with your remaining years"

he paused, thought for a moment, and he replied: "you're the first person who ever said that to me"

we continued a bit and i warned him you know the demons are going to show up real quick to tell you what to do instead, he knew what i was talking about.
