I do not direct my belief to point at Jesus
Belief (faith) only comes from one source, the Word. All scripture points to Jesus the Word.

Joh 5:39 You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me,
Joh 5:40 yet you refuse to come to me that you may have life.

Nobody is forced to believe it is a choice every man must make.

When Jesus blessed the bread and the wine, referring to it, this is my body and this is my blood. He stated that if you received this in an unworthy manner you condemn yourself.

It's because of those that I stated earlier, for those who cannot accept that teaching that they too are able to receive Jesus in a Worthy fashion by way of receiving Jesus Through the scripture.

I would be careful to generalize a people saying they are unworthy of Heaven. Jesus condemned the Pharisees but he didn't condemn the whole Israeli population. And as you know not all of the Pharisees were bad like Nicodemus.

If we think about the Israelis for a minute, they never knew Jesus either. Yeah Enoch was taken by God and Elijah also gone to heaven in the fiery chariot. Abraham who never knew Jesus followed the ways of God that were laid out before him. And he's considered the father of the nation of Israel and the Muslims.

I think we could safely say that there are many Israelis who are in heaven.

So you have to ask yourself what is it that makes it possible for the Israelis (before Jesus walked the Earth as a human) to be able to enter Heaven if they never knew him.

God is eternal. And the Mandate that Jesus made is also an internal mandate. He didn't say when this started he just said, "no one can go to the father but through me".

This is why I often State here that there is more to Jesus than we understand. It isn't just knowing who he is in our heads that is important. It's knowing who God is in our heart.

What part of God is not God? If we believe that we must have Jesus in our heart, isn't Jesus God? If we don't believe that then maybe we're not Christians after all.

Jesus, God the Father, and the Holy Spirit are One. This is something that Jesus also stated. So when we look at the Jews of the Old Testament you have to understand that they fell in love with God and God was the center of their heart and that's why they are with God now.

Hello yet again Bill,

The question was based upon your decisive "Does receiving the Eucharist give me salvation, yes." (proof post #59), which is a balance of "receiving the Eucharist" equals "salvation".

You did not qualify "receiving the Eucharist" except for your qualification of "Why, what is the Eucharist, Jesus.", so based upon your qualification, please answer:

Does receiving the Eucharist give a muslim who rejects Jesus salvation?

And, Bill, it was Paul, not Jesus, who wrote about "He stated that if you received this in an unworthy manner you condemn yourself" with the notable exception that Paul did not write "you condemn yourself" because the Scripture is "But when we are judged, we are disciplined by the Lord so that we will not be condemned along with the world" (1 Corinthians 11:32).

Deu 30:19 I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live;

God has set before man "life" and "death"; these are the two choices God gives man with the freedom to choose either one.

2Th 2:9 The coming of the lawless one is by the activity of Satan with all power and false signs and wonders,
2Th 2:10 and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved.

Here are people perishing because they have refused to love the truth that they might be saved. Refusing to make a choice to love the truth and be saved. Man was given a free will to choose life or death.

Hi Curtis,

Let’s look at 1st of 2 of your quotations, there, Curtis, which you preach as proof that God imparted man with the ability to choose God:
CurtisMoses
I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. So God gives man with the freedom to choose either one in order that you may live, you and your descendants
(Curtis 30:19)
I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. So choose life in order that you may live, you and your descendants
(Deuteronomy 30:19)
so the Truth (John 14:6) is Moses issued a command without including your addition of "God gives man with the freedom to choose either one"; furthermore, a command does not coney ability.

Let’s move on to the 2nd of 2 of your quotations which has relevance to your 1st quotation:
that is, the one whose coming is in accord with the activity of Satan, with all power and signs and false wonders, and with all the deception of wickedness for those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth so as to be saved

You wrote "Here are people perishing because they have refused to love the truth that they might be saved. Refusing to make a choice to love the truth and be saved. Man was given a free will to choose life or death" which can be carefully disected against the 2 Thessalonians 2:9-10 to which you apply your writing:
  • You wrote "Here are people perishing because they have refused to love the truth" which is true for the default first state of being for man is to be self-willed against God in the flesh (2 Peter 2:9-10).
  • You continued "that they might be saved" which is NOT what Paul wrote for you make it contingent upon man to be save but Paul makes being saved contingent upon the Truth's love, that is, Christ's love (2 Corinthians 5:14).
  • You expanded "Refusing to make a choice to love the truth and be saved" thus you adulterated 2 Thessalonians 2:9-10 with your purported choice toward God where your purported choice toward God does not exist.
  • You concluded "Man was given a free will to choose life or death" which is false because no Holy Scripture states man was imparted a free-will, but Holy Scripture does state that man has a self-will to revile the Majesty on High (2 Peter 2:9-10) - free-willian philosophy does just that of reviling the Majesty on High.

The Israelites did not choose life in the land with respect to Deuteronomy 30:19, and we can see the results because of people like Nebuchadnezzar. The Israelites showed they were against God and they suffered death.

We Christians believe the Christ exclusively chooses persons unto salvation:
  • "you did not choose Me, but I chose you" (Lord Jesus Christ, John 15:16), so God chooses people to be friends (John 15:15, the prior verse) and to believe (John 6:29) and to be born again (John 3:3-8) and for righteous works (John 3:21, John 15:5) and to repent (Matthew 11:25) and to love (John 13:34) and unto salvation (John 15:19 the same passage).
  • "I chose you out of the world" (Lord Jesus Christ, John 15:19, includes salvation), so God exclusively chooses people unto salvation.
  • "What I say to you I say to all" (Lord Jesus Christ, Mark 13:37 - Jesus had taken the Apostles Peter, Andrew, James, and John aside in private and said this), so all the blessings of God mentioned above are to all believers in all time.

Believe Christ!

All the people in hell today and all those who wind up in the lake of fire, whose fault is it that they are there? Could they have chosen not to go there?

If God is in control of everything then why would I need faith for anything?

Your concluding paragraph of "Nobody is forced to believe it is a choice every man must make" contradicts your opening sentence of "Belief (faith) only comes from one source, the Word".

Your opening sentence is true, but your concluding paragraph of "Nobody is forced to believe it is a choice every man must make" demolishes the Sovereignty of God in your free-willian philosophy. The Word of God is “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent” (John 6:29)!

Believe the Word of God!

There is no contradiction in what I said. Having faith means nothing if you don’t make the choce to use it.

Hello Curtis,

You asked three questions, and here are answers to each according to the Holy Spirit with much more than just answers to your questions.

Pay attention to the Apostle's application of Your Hand illuminating God's intimate control of humanity:
"O Lord, it is You who made the heaven and the earth and the sea, and all that is in them, who by the Holy Spirit, through the mouth of our father David Your servant, said,
'Why did the Gentiles rage,
And the peoples devise futile things?
'The kings of the earth took their stand,
And the rulers were gathered together
Against the Lord and against His Christ.'
For truly in this city there were gathered together against Your holy servant Jesus, whom You anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, along with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel, to do whatever Your Hand and Your purpose predestined to occur. And now, Lord, take note of their threats, and grant that Your bond-servants may speak Your word with all confidence, while You extend Your hand to heal, and signs and wonders take place through the name of Your holy servant Jesus."
((Acts 4:24-30), the Apostle Peter and the Apostle John and the Assembly of God were together when they lifted their voices to God with one accord)

Look carefully, for the Assembly of God unison prayer to God includes Pontius Pilate to do whatever Your Hand predestined to occur. That is a specific person under the direct influence of the Lord God Almighty to murder the innocent Son of Man.

The Lord God Almighty lovingly sent the Son of God to redeem God's chosen persons. God is love.

The Lord God Almighty is always good:
No one is good except God alone
(Lord Jesus Christ, Mark 10:18).

The Lord God Almighty establishes which of man perceive God:
I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent and have revealed them to babes
(Lord Jesus Christ, Matthew 11:25).

The Lord God Almighty declares the Sovereignty of God "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the Kingdom of God" (Lord Jesus Christ, John 3:3) for The Lord God Almighty alone is Savior of the world.

The Lord God Almighty had the Apostle Peter declare God's preservation of God's chosen persons as well as self-willed persons punishment, all the declaration showing the Power of God:
"The Lord knows how to rescue the godly from temptation, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the day of judgment, and especially those who indulge the flesh in its corrupt desires and despise authority; daring, self-willed, they do not tremble when they revile angelic majesties"

The Lord God Almighty graciously imparts belief into God's chosen persons according to God's good will “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent” (John 6:29).

The Lord God Almighty declares man is accountable to God:
I tell you that every careless word that men speak, they shall give an accounting for it in the day of judgment.
(Lord Jesus Christ, Matthew 12:36)

The Lord God Almighty declares to man his thoughts:
behold, he who forms the mountains and creates the wind, and declares to man what is his thought, who makes the morning darkness, and treads on the heights of the earth— the LORD, the God of hosts, is his name!
(Amos 4:13)

The Lord God Almighty conveyed through the Apostle Paul about people who exalt the creature above the Grand Creator:
"Therefore God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false"
(2 Thessalonians 2:11).

The Lord God Almighty lovingly causes God's chosen persons to will according to God's Way (John 14:6), and God lovingly causes God's chosen persons to work joyfully according to God's Way:
"it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure"
(Philippians 2:13).

The Lord God Almighty is glorified with “he who practices the Truth comes to the Light, so that his works may be manifested as having been wrought in God” (The Word of God, John 3:21).

Believe the Lord God Almighty's Christ!

Free-will is a conjured concept of the traditions of men leading to worship in vain (Matthew 15:9).

In Truth (John 14:6), the Almighty God is Sovereign (Genesis 1:1) in man's salvation and affairs of man (Daniel 4:34-35)! HOLY, HOLY, HOLY IS THE LORD GOD ALMIGHTY!!!

You still did not answer the question. If Jesus died for the sins of the whole world so that no man could be lost, how are people lost. Who fault is it that they are lost?

Hola Curtis,

Your "Having faith means nothing if you don’t make the choce to use it" contradicts Christ's sayings of “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent” (John 6:29) and “you did not choose Me, but I chose you” (John 15:16) and “I chose you out of the world” (John 15:19 Includes salvation)!

Not sure why i need to repeat myself. It is not my place to say if a person is worthy or not, that is between them and God. There are many who claim to be Christians who are devils too. Kkk comes to mind.yet all associated with them will not see it that way.

There are Muslims i have talked with who are turning to Christianity .

What i was trying to say, when a person loves God, they aready have faith in God. Because when you love God you already love Jesus, whether you know Jesus personally or not.

Jesus says he is the Alpha and Omega. He always was and always will be. This means that Jesus was present all through the Old Testament even though the Israelites did not recognize him. It's written in the scripture in the New Testament it states that Jesus was The Rock that followed the Israelites around in the desert during the time of Moses. The rock that gave people life-giving water.

Why can't you tell me whose fault it is that people go to hell?

1Ti 2:3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior,
1Ti 2:4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

If God desires ALL men to be saved, why aren't all men saved?

What causes a man not to be saved? Does God cause a man not to be saved, or is it man who causes a man not to be saved?

2Th 2:10 and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved.

Why are people going to hell (perishing) when they don't have to if they choose to love the truth and so be saved?

Hi Curtis,

You need to reread post #88 to which you just replied because your question is addressed in post #88. Here's a hint, search for Lord Jesus talking about the day of judgment..

Your words there are so convoluted that you make it sound like you believe that lost people are not lost. Everybody starts off as lost (1 Corinthians 15:46). My Lord Jesus declares "the Son of Man has come to save that which was lost" (Matthew 18:11).

Hey Curtis,

You located where Lord Jesus talking about the day of judgment. in post #88, but you ask a question already addressed in the same post #88. Here's a hint, search for self-willed in post #88.

1Jn 2:2 And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.

Did Jesus die on the cross for the sins of the whole world? Yes he did!,

There is no reason for anyone to spend eternity in the lake of fire.

If Jesus died for every person, why are most going to hell?

Because people refuse to choose the love of truth so they could be saved.

God does not make that choice for you. You have to choose life yourself.

God only provides the choices for man to pick from.

Deu 30:19 I call heaven and earth to witness this day against you that I have set before you life and death, the blessings and the curses; therefore choose life, that you and your descendants may live

These teachings, especially from the Vatican, are anti-Christ in MHO.

Quote: "When the Bible is stripped of its authority and made subject to personal or cultural interpretation, the door is opened to manipulation. A Bible you can’t trust is a Bible that can be twisted to say anything and justify any agenda. This is exactly what’s happening with the rise of queer theology. “Professors” are twisting Scripture to agree with their perverted values, regardless of its true meaning."

I have only been studying the Bible for a few years now, and find it quite difficult. I also find that people on Christian Forums have very different interpretations of the KJV and this is confusing and sometimes disturbing. Therefore I am finding that I need to read the whole book of the verses quoted, in it's entirety. I guess this is the difficult part for me at this stage, and I know that as I begin to understand the Bible more and know my way around it better, things will become much easier.

In the Old Testament, I find certain sections rather difficult to understand, firstly because of the terminology (language) used, and secondly because some verses are quite "cryptic" (for want of a better word).

There are some OT verses that get me wondering eg women were regarded as second to men. They had to be subservient to their husbands, and could not speak up in church (they had to be quiet), as well as the many verses about slaves and slavery. I do realise that things were very different in those days. Then there is a part of me that questions whether perhaps the scriptures were "tampered" with by the Hebrew Scribes. The reason for my questioning, is because Our Beloved Jesus was murdered by Pharisees, by those who headed the synagogues.

Quote: "The Pharisees (/ˈfærəsiːz/; Hebrew: פְּרוּשִׁים, romanized: Pərūšīm, lit. 'separated ones') were a Jewish social movement and school of thought in the Levant during the time of Second Temple Judaism. Could the Pharasees of yester year be the Zionists of today? (another topic perhaps)

Anyway, I much prefer the New Testament : )

Some members would argue that The New Christ Covenant supersedes the Old Abraham Covenant (again perhaps another topic)

Thanks for opening up this discussion, Linda
You’re correct that people can make the Bible say whatever they want when they reject its authority and read it through the lens of culture. Scripture even predicts that would happen: “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine… and they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables” (2 Timothy 4:3–4). That’s precisely what “queer theology” and Vatican compromises are: fables, not truth.

Don’t let the cacophony of voices undermine your faith. God’s Word has not been corrupted by men (Jesus said, “the scripture cannot be broken” John 10:35). The Pharisees killed Christ out of unbelief, not because they altered the text. They added to God’s law their own traditions (Mark 7:13), but they never removed the Word.

Yes, some of the laws in the Old Testament seem foreign, but Paul said, “Whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning” (Romans 15:4). The New Covenant is superior to the Old (Hebrews 8: 6), but it does not supersede it, it fulfills it and directs us to Christ Himself.

Keep on doing what you’re doing: read a passage in context, not just a verse or two. The Spirit of God will lead all who believe into all truth (John 16:13). Just pray and ask the Holy Spirit to open your eyes to the truth of God’s word. As you continue to search the Scriptures in His presence, the chatter of false doctrines will become a dull roar and the voice of the Shepherd will become clear.

Unfortunately for us catholics that are true to the Word of God, we have been dealing with now the 2nd popes in a row that is extreem liberal.

The new pope was the guy Francis used to find all the liberal bishops. Every conservative Bishop was removed from office. And a very questionable accident happened to a Cardinal that was very much against Francis.

I did not know of the college classes, but it does not surprize me in Europe. Catholic bishops in Germany and much of Europe have been marrying people of the same sex from the early part of Francis ( cough) leadership. ( that is completely against Catholic teaching)
You’re seeing the fruit of the problem right there. Catholicism itself is not built on the Bible, it’s built on traditions of men. Jesus warned us about this: “Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition” (Mark 7:9). It’s not that this pope is liberal, popes, bishops, and councils never have been the authority God gave us. Scripture alone is God’s Word, and it alone is the standard of truth (2 Timothy 3:16–17).

So when Catholic leaders “go liberal” and approve what God calls sin, it only exposes the foundation they’re standing on. The Bible says clearly that marriage is one man and one woman (Genesis 2: 24; Matthew 19:4–6), and that same-sex unions are sin (Romans 1:26–27; 1 Corinthians 6:9–10). When religion contradicts God’s Word, the religion is false.

You don’t need a pope, a bishop, or a church tradition to know the truth. You need Christ and His Word. Jesus said, “If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:31–32). The problem is not one liberal pope after another, the problem is following a system that replaced God’s Word with man’s authority.

Love,
Kermos
For the predestined crowd, it's a good question why did Jesus even die on the cross as that doesn't make any sense with predestination.
