The Pharisees with Sadducees their common ground. Both denied the doctrine that dying mankind "must be born again" or called mankind "must be "resurrected".
Resurrect literally meaning "to rise again to new life" The foundation of that resurrection doctrine established in Genisis 4:26.
Both made the scripture that informs a person must be born again to no effect. So, they could keep the oral traditions of dying mankind rather than sola scriptura.

While Paul worshipped the one God whose Holy Spirit works in all earthly fathers. They worshiped a legion of earthly fathers as did Paul before his born-again resurrection.
