The Banned Prophet: Examining Why the Book of Enoch Was Purged from the Canon

It makes absolutely no sense — at least not on the surface.
So, like with many ancient coverups, working theories are the best we’ve got.
And here’s mine.

First, who was Enoch?

Enoch was the seventh generation from Adam (Jude 1:14).

Enoch was the great-grandson of Adam and Eve.

Enoch was also the great-grandfather of Noah (Genesis 5:18–29).

Enoch was born before the Flood and is the only pre-Flood prophet with an attributed book of prophecy.

Enoch is said to have actually “walked with God” for 300 years — from the age of 65 until "God took him". (Genesis 5:24).

Enoch is one of only two people in the Old Testament who were taken by God without dying (the other is Elijah).

The phrase “walked with God” is uniquely applied to Enoch, setting him apart from other patriarchs.

Enoch is directly quoted in the New Testament, in the Epistle of Jude (Jude 1:14–15).

The quote in Jude is a verbatim reference to 1 Enoch 1:9, confirming the Apostles’ familiarity with the text.

Jude refers to Enoch as a prophet.

The content of the quote in Jude is not found in Genesis or any Old Testament text except the Book of Enoch.

The Book of Enoch contains a messianic prophecy of the Second Coming of Christ with His holy ones.

The Book of Enoch describes the judgment of the ungodly, consistent with New Testament eschatology.

Enoch is mentioned in Hebrews 11:5 as part of the “Hall of Faith.”

Enoch’s righteousness is affirmed in Hebrews 11 as pleasing to God.

The Book of Enoch was part of the Dead Sea Scrolls collection.

Multiple full and partial copies of Enoch were discovered among the Qumran scrolls.

The Book of Enoch was preserved and canonized in the Ethiopian Orthodox Church, one of the oldest Christian traditions.

The Ethiopian Church includes Enoch as part of the broader canon and has used it liturgically for centuries.

Early Church Fathers such as Tertullian referenced and endorsed Enoch.

Justin Martyr referenced the angelic fall narrative consistent with Enoch’s account.

Athenagoras, Irenaeus, and Origen referenced themes that are distinctly Enochian.

Enoch provides a full theological framework for Genesis 6:1–4, which the canonical Bible only briefly summarizes.

The Book of Enoch identifies the “Sons of God” in Genesis 6 as rebellious angels.

Enoch names the chief fallen angels, including Semjaza and Azazel.

Enoch explains the origin of the Nephilim.

Enoch links demonic spirits to the disembodied spirits of the Nephilim, explaining their origin and hostility.

Enoch gives detailed descriptions of angelic transgressions and the divine punishment that followed.

The Book of Enoch records how angels corrupted humanity with forbidden knowledge.

Enoch identifies categories of forbidden knowledge: warfare, cosmetics, sorcery, astrology, etc.

These teachings connect directly with the New Testament theme of spiritual wickedness in high places (Ephesians 6:12).

Enoch's judgment prophecies are consistent with Old and New Testament apocalyptic texts.

The Book of Enoch contains an early vision of the Messiah, referred to as the “Son of Man.”

Enoch’s “Son of Man” figure is enthroned in heaven, judging kings and the wicked — consistent with Daniel 7 and Revelation.

Enoch is the earliest written source to describe the Son of Man pre-incarnate in a divine role.

Enoch describes a coming resurrection of the righteous.

Enoch describes a coming final judgment of fallen angels and unrepentant humans.

Enoch contains structured parables and visions, matching the prophetic genre of books like Daniel, Ezekiel, and Revelation.

The theological content of Enoch does not contradict canonical Scripture, but rather expands and clarifies it.

The Book of Enoch was known and used during the Second Temple period.

Enoch was likely known to Jesus and the Apostles, based on references and terminology.

Enoch was widely circulated in both Hebrew and Aramaic before and during the time of Christ.

The Book of Enoch was widely read by early Jewish sects, including the Essenes.

There is no known historical record of the Book of Enoch being formally condemned by the Apostles.

The exclusion of Enoch was based on late post-apostolic decisions, not direct divine rejection.

The Council of Nicaea never discussed or formally excluded the Book of Enoch.

The Book of Enoch was not excluded due to heresy, but likely due to political and theological discomfort.

Enoch undermines post-Constantinian theology, including views on angels, hierarchy, and spiritual warfare.

Enoch is consistent with apocalyptic themes found in Revelation, 2 Peter, Jude, Zechariah, and Daniel.

The themes of divine judgment, fallen angels, spiritual corruption, and the return of the Son of Man are all biblically foundational.

The omission of Enoch leaves major theological gaps in the canon regarding pre-Flood history, demonology, and the role of angels.

The Book of Enoch fills in background theology that is assumed by later biblical texts.

Enoch’s account of the Watchers explains the urgency of the Flood far more clearly than Genesis alone.

Without Enoch, the reader must infer complex doctrines from fragmented verses.

Enoch aligns with New Testament emphasis on cosmic spiritual conflict.

Enoch was once accepted by the broader early Christian world and was only later marginalized.

The Book of Enoch is more theologically grounded than several later Apocryphal works that remained in Catholic Bibles (e.g., Tobit, Judith).

There is no evidence of widespread rejection of Enoch in the first three centuries of Christianity.

The rejection of Enoch coincided with Rome’s consolidation of theological control over canon formation.

Enoch provides a clear Messianic vision prior to the Law, tying Christ to pre-Abrahamic prophecy.

So the only answer one can be left with is this:

The Book of Enoch wasn’t excluded because it was false. It was excluded because it was too true — and too terrifying.

The content of Enoch is not mild theology. It isn’t concerned with civic morality or imperial order. It pulls the curtain back on a world of angelic rebellion, forbidden knowledge, corrupted bloodlines, judgment by fire, and an all-seeing Messiah enthroned before creation.

In other words:
Enoch reveals a supernatural war — and it names names.

The early Roman Church, under imperial influence, had every reason to avoid that.

At the time of canon finalization, the Christian faith was being absorbed into empire. Constantine’s goal was not purity of doctrine — it was unity of empire. And a book like Enoch, which reveals:

The origin of demonic spirits,
The crimes of heavenly beings,
The pre-Advent enthronement of the Son of Man,
And an unrelenting prophetic condemnation of world powers…

…was not useful to a system trying to create order, hierarchy, and long-term political control.

It scared people.
Not because it was fantasy — but because it wasn’t.
It described a spiritual reality so intense, so direct, and so unfiltered, that Rome saw it as destabilizing.

So they buried it.

It wasn’t doctrinal deviation that got Enoch shelved.
It was doctrinal danger
danger to the religious gatekeepers, to the imperial narrative, and to the sanitized, post-apocalyptic version of Christianity Rome was creating.

The Book of Enoch didn’t fit the empire’s religion.

But it fit the apostles’ worldview perfectly.

And that’s why it had to go.

What might have happened if the Book of Enoch had made it into the final biblical canon:

1. The Western world would have developed a deeply supernatural, spiritually alert worldview centered on angelic rebellion, judgment, and the cosmic authority of Christ.

2. The origin of demons, fallen angels, and Nephilim would be common knowledge among all Christians.

3. The “Sons of God” in Genesis 6 would be universally understood as fallen angels, not dismissed or allegorized.

4. Early church catechism would have included teachings on the Watchers and spiritual warfare on a cosmic scale.

5. There would be no room for modernist, materialist Christianity that denies the reality of supernatural evil.

6. The divinity and pre-existence of Christ as the enthroned “Son of Man” would be emphasized from childhood catechism onward.

7. Gnostic heresies and New Age spirituality would have been exposed and dismantled early, as their “hidden knowledge” would already be addressed and condemned in Scripture.

8. The Vatican likely would never have emerged as a centralized, syncretic imperial religious system.

9. The veneration of statues, saints, and angels as intermediaries would have been rejected as the very kind of angelic corruption Enoch condemns.

10. The porn industry would not exist, as sexual corruption would be understood as one of the core tactics of fallen angels.

11. The concept of “forbidden knowledge” would be integrated into theological training, guarding society from alchemical, occult, and transhumanist deviations.

12. Eugenics, cloning, and genetic manipulation would be seen as revivals of the Watchers’ sins and met with unified Christian resistance.

13. The burning of Christians for reading Scripture would have triggered rebellion against Rome centuries earlier.

14. The Protestant Reformation might have occurred earlier and more violently, with Enoch exposing Catholic deviations clearly and prophetically.

15. The Vatican likely would have been dismantled, not reformed, during the Reformation.

16. Paganism, witchcraft, and esoteric cults would be publicly associated with the sins of the Watchers and destroyed systematically.

17. The 1948 UN/Rothschild creation of modern “Israel” would have been rejected globally by Christians, as Enoch makes clear who the true covenant belongs to.

18. Christian Zionism would never have existed, as Enoch places judgment squarely on the wicked rulers of the earth and on the fallen angels behind them.

19. Evangelical theology would focus on the kingdom of Christ over any earthly state or bloodline.

20. The Scofield Bible would have never gained influence, as Enoch exposes false Israel and spiritual deception rooted in denying the Messiah.

21. Christian art, literature, and culture would be dramatically more sober, prophetic, and apocalyptic in tone.

22. The West would be far less secular, as Enoch leaves no room for sanitized, humanistic religion.

23. Education would include the origin of evil, not just moral behavior, producing citizens who understand spiritual deception and rebellion.

24. Freemasonry, Kabbalah, and occult secret societies would be instantly identified as extensions of Watcher knowledge and outlawed.

25. The modern entertainment industry, saturated with demonic and Nephilim symbolism, would have no foothold.

26. AI, transhumanism, and synthetic biology would be framed theologically as repeat offenses of the pre-Flood world.

27. The flood narrative would be taught not as myth, but as a divine reset triggered by cosmic corruption.

28. Church liturgy and sermons would regularly invoke the reality of angelic judgment and Christ’s cosmic authority.

29. Revelation would be universally linked to Enoch’s visions, creating a unified eschatological framework.

30. The line between spiritual and physical rebellion would be clearly understood by Christians from youth onward.

31. Political systems that oppose Christ would be prophetically opposed by the Church without compromise or appeasement.

32. The concept of spiritual hierarchy under Christ would replace worldly status obsession in church structures.

33. Churches would view angelic accountability as real, resulting in deeper reverence, discipline, and fear of God.

34. The idea of global revival would include cleansing the Church of spiritual compromise with Babylonian systems.

35. Christianity would be viewed not as a set of beliefs, but as a revealed cosmic war — one with no neutrality.

36. The lukewarm, seeker-friendly church movement would never have taken root.

37. Enoch's inclusion would have collapsed false ecumenism and exposed interfaith apostasy.

38. Seminaries would train spiritual watchmen, not corporate theologians.

39. Government policies would be examined through a spiritual warfare lens.

40. Christians would be far less naive about “progress,” “science,” and “technology” disconnected from morality.

41. Generational sin, curse, and blessing would be better understood through Enoch’s genealogical emphasis.

42. Political leaders who oppose Christ would be denounced without fear or hesitation.

43. Spiritual discernment would be foundational to all education, politics, and science.

44. Apostolic authority would be protected by grounding it in the divine order Enoch explains.

45. The fear of God would be restored in every pulpit.

46. Christ would not be seen as just Savior — but as the eternal Judge enthroned since before creation.

47. The Antichrist spirit would be easier to detect, since Enoch exposes the spirit of rebellion in its original form.

48. False prophets, false miracles, and signs would be discredited instantly by people grounded in Enoch’s record.

49. Christianity would not be a part-time religion, but a full worldview of cosmic truth.

50. The Church would be unstoppable, because it would finally see the whole war.

And of course, the Dragon would NEVER allow any of that. ^

A Church that knew the full truth —
about the Watchers, the Nephilim, the origin of demons, the pre-incarnate Messiah, and the cosmic war for souls —
would be unstoppable.

So the Book was buried.

Not because it was false.
But because it was dangerous —
to him.

"And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world..." — Revelation 12:9

And he still is.

Hi Thanks

Seven is used in parables to represent perfection completeness . . . day seven .

Enoch meaning. .to train. The beginning or generation of Adam and Eve the grandparents. . fallen mankind.(666)

Enoch was given the understnding of God (sola scriptura) called walking

300 years (three in multiple of tens (3 .. . 30.. . 300. . . 3,000...30,000 denotes the end of a matter. Strike three .

Three in many parables denotes the end of a matter

Two denotes God not seen has spoken, Adam and Eve (two)

They were promised a way back into the garden by mankind. In selfish pride they named the first Cain (meaning acquired possession) losing hope after that birth understanding it would be by faith the unseen, they named the second born Abel meaning vanity again realizing by faith. not there lifetime

The first-born spiritual seed (Christ) was of no value to Adam and Eve. Just like Jacob and Esau who sold his for a cup of hairy goat soup Or Onan who spiled the seed to represent Christ

In order to establish, mankind must be born from above. God replaced Able the second born with another named Enos It was then and not one moment before that born again mankind could call on the name as power of Christ

The seed was passed down to Jesus the Son of man. The written birth record ended .No offspring from Jesus the Son of man.

Genisis 4:25-26And Adam knew his wife again; and she bare a son, and called his name Seth: For God, said she, hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew. And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the Lord.

John 3:7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

That was one of the better explanations of Enoch. I have extensive knowledge of Enoch myself, but rarely talk of it, due to all the negative attached to it. Its not needed to understand God or salvation, so its not critical knowledge. The book of dreams/visions (a section of Enoch chaps 82-90) goes into a very figurative language starting mostly in chap 85, comparing people to beasts much like is done in Daniel. It begins by comparing Adam and Eve and their 3 sons to bulls and heifers. The white coloring of the bulls speaks to those who serve the Lord (but not sinless). The black coloring refers to cain (and those who follow who rebel against the Lord) who kills (gores) the red bull who was his brother able who was slain by him. Then later, references are made to Moses and the Israelites and their journey to the promised land, and chap 89:42 references David (all represented as animals), chap 89:59 refers to the beginning of the sanhedrin. In 89:61-71, the spiritual leaders of the Jews, the sanhedrin was condemned for evil deeds they did (the reason the sanhedrin and the jews eventually rejected Enoch). Then in chap 90 it begins to speak of Jesus then in 90:17 it speaks of the 12 apostles and how those and those who followed did even a worse job of sheparding than the jews did (this made the christians eventually drop the book as inspired). I firmly believe these are the reasons both most of the jews and most of the christians rejected it.

I knew I was missing something essential.
If you know of a "good" English translation of the Book of Enoch (I suppose an Ethiopian edition is a start), I will support it and start studying.
Thank you for your work on this and sharing your testimony of Christ our Redeemer.

I read initially his translation. It was a hard read, so I made my own copy, keeping the words exactly as printed, but organizing it into more easily seperated chapters and verses, to make it more readable. Then I added in some extra notes about what I had learned, kept seperate from the book. His version is the ONLY version that was approved by the Ethiopian Orthodox church which carries the only complete oldest version available completely in the Ge'ez language. If you wish, I can email you a copy of my notes on it. Just private msg me your email address and I will see if I can have the pages scanned into digital format and send it to you.

Dear @The Gospel of Christ
I will be upfront and say I have not read it. I might only be against it because of the 66 Canon doctrine of what is considered the inspired books therein contained which it is not. Knowing that there is canon, that have more, many more, and even lesser amounts of books contained in what some consider scripture I am not oblivious to this either. So its consideration as something that warrants further study I can appreciate personally and now since there are no conditions that still exist in this sites Statement of Faith (SOF) concerning this, I cannot in good conscious reject your writings concerning it. Even though in the past due to previous renditions of the SOF, I would have.

However, I do not have to read it, to know if what you have written is true, it still has much supposition attached to it, in relations to how Christianity, and so humanity/government/culture would have evolved and the resulting ends if the Book of Enoch (1,2,3 ?) had become universally considered canon by all.

With that being said. Can you explain the differences of the Book of Enoch, which is described as being 1 Enoch, 2 Enoch, 3 Enoch.
A bit more difficult for you I'm sure, and for which I apologize if it is too extensive an ask, how each whether included or not included would have affected the listings you provided concerning not just the contents, but on what you believe the effects on Christianity moving forward. Especially how it would have been if it had been included as canon in all of Christianity. I would also expect that there are dating concerns to be considered as well between them as well.

I appreciate your consideration.

With the Love of Christ Jesus.

P.S. I am considering the purchase of a companion guide done by Michael S. Heiser as a help mate to when or if I decide to read the Book of Enoch. Since I am sure that much symbolism is used, similar to Revelation. I see this without reading it, because after observing comments/discussion on the Book of Enoch over the years there is no little disagreement of meaning, as there is for the rest of the Bible. \o/

The Book of Enoch was found right there with the Dead Sea Scrolls.

Not just "nearby."
Inside the same caves.
In the same clay jars.
Right alongside:

Isaiah
Jubilees
Genesis
Deuteronomy
Psalms
And fragments of every Old Testament book except Esther

In Cave 4 at Qumran, archaeologists found at least 11 copies of the Book of Enoch — more than some canonical books had.
This wasn’t an accident. It was curated, copied, stored, and preserved by the Essenes, a deeply apocalyptic, priestly sect that pre-dated Christ and was waiting for two Messiahs: a priest and a king.

It was literally IN with, the Dead Sea scrolls.. So it would be like say.., Psalms, magically just being left out of the final cannon..
We'd now be saying the same thing. "Well, Psalms didn't make it in the final canon, even though it was literally
right next to Genesis in the exact same way in many clay pots. Oh well. Psalms must've not been that important."

The Book of Enoch was like the Empire Strikes Back in between Star Wars and Return of the Jedi you know what I'm sayin'? Like, together.. Not meant to be apart type together. And it's crazy because right where it was found next to Genesis is exactly where it should've been in the Bible explaining exactly what happened between the Garden and Eden and the Flood in much greater detail.

I think the old Dragon might have gotten one over on us this time.
Because nothing going on right now would be possible if he hadn't; as I explained above.
The world would be radically different and with far less evil in it.

The Book of Enoch was found right there with the Dead Sea Scrolls.
I know the history of the Dead Sea Scrolls, and what was found where. Thank-you for wanting to explain it to me. :)
All that does is confirm the previous existence of the documents found elsewhere/previously, not their validity as canon or even purpose/usage besides probably as a reference library by the Essenes who had them there. It has been a boon to say the least for showing the accuracy of the documents that we already had in our possession, which had always been the battle against naysayers on accuracy until then. Though there are some who would still argue the point. (heavy sigh).

Yeah, sorry, I’m just not buying that.
I trust the clay pots from the 1940s a lot more than I trust a council of corruptible men in Rome from the 3rd or 4th century —
or any theological gatekeeper today, for that matter.
Any day of the week.

If I walk into a cave and find:

Multiple jars sealed and preserved for 2,000 years untouched
Multiple jars containing Genesis, Leviticus, Numbers and the Book of Enoch rolled together
And I find more copies of Enoch than many books that made it into the final canon
That’s not just interesting.
That’s glaring.

Imagine you're sitting on a jury.
The husband’s on trial for murder.
The police search his basement and find:

The wife’s blood on his clothes
Her phone hidden in his toolbox
A diary with him threatening her
And 11 different handwritten confessions — all in his handwriting

Then his lawyer stands up and says:
“Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, yes, we found all that —
but we don't think it's relevant.
We’re going to go ahead and ignore it entirely.
We’re sticking with the story that he loved her and she just vanished.”

You’d throw your coffee across the courtroom.
You’d look at the guy next to you and go:
“Are we seriously pretending this isn’t evidence?”

Now cut back to Cave 4 at Qumran, where they found Genesis, Leviticus, Numbers — and more copies of the Book of Enoch than some canon books. All sealed. All preserved. All treated as sacred by the scribes who lived closer to the time of Christ than any bishop in Rome ever did.

And we’re told:
“Well… Enoch just didn’t make the cut. Let’s not worry about it.”

Sorry — I’m not buying it.

That’s not canon discernment.
That’s suppressing Exhibit A.

I think everyone at the Vatican groaned in the 1940s when they found all the jars..

"Oh no… they found it."

Because make no mistake — the powers that be groaned when those jars were cracked open in the 1940s.
While the average person saw ancient scrolls, the spiritual realm saw a time bomb ticking back to life.

Because once the Book of Enoch resurfaced…
The veil started to tear.
The old lies started to wobble.
The sanitized Sunday School version of angels started to collapse.
And the Church was forced to confront the fact that maybe—just maybe—it had been missing part of the war file this whole time.

You better believe the Dragon groaned.
Rome groaned.
The powerful elites groaned.

Because the last thing the rulers of this age wanted…
was for you to find out who the Watchers really were
— and what they taught mankind before the Flood.

The Dead Sea Scrolls didn’t just preserve history.

They blew the lid off a cover-up.

And Enoch?

He was probably the file marked: CLASSIFIED.

Adam & Eve’s great-great-grandson.
Noah’s great-grandfather.
Physically walked with God for 300 years.
Taken alive by God.
Saw the Fallen Angels descend to Earth and take human wives FIRST HAND.
Quoted directly by Jude — in Scripture.
Called a prophet by Jude — divinely, no less.

I mean… seriously?

Can you imagine sitting around saying:
“Well, this Enoch guy’s a nobody…”

HUH?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

No.
Just… no.

If it walks like a Vatican coverup,
talks like a Vatican coverup,
and quacks like a Vatican coverup…

It’s a coverup.

Maybe this is secretly the way God wanted it to go down and He allowed it to happen, who knows..
Maybe He waited until the end of the age to blow the dust off and hand it back to a remnant that would actually believe it.

But something stinks to high heaven at the Vatican... of that there can be no doubt.

Artist's depiction of Enoch and God with the fallen angels descending after he read The Book of Enoch..

I got to be honest... I don't think he's that far off here...

Enoch is one of only two people in the Old Testament who were taken by God without dying (the other is Elijah).

Sounds like the Hollywood drama version. Enoch the Giant killer

Giants walking around, disappearing only for the giants to re-appear after the flood.

That could be true if Enoch like Jesus the Son of man did not die. But living in a body of death it's an appointment all make on time.

Noah walked (fellowshipped) with God and was no more, He died his body returned to dust just as Enoch

The idea of passing around dead bones (Pope Formoso) and proclaiming judgment is a Roman Catholic idea for the 9th century They have many venerable bones on display. supporting their re-incarnation false doctrines

Corrupted flesh and blood could never enter the new city of Christ prepared for his bride the church

Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

Even the Son of man Jesus in whom Christ the husband worked in came under the appointment to die and flesh and bones return to dust

2 Corinthians 5:16 Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.

Faith unseen things of our husband Christ.

:) You don't have to buy, it is what would be accepted in your example, a court of law. Try to add intent/motivation is something that then goes more along the lines of Conspiracy Theory then reality of the events that occurred. If I cared to, I'm sure I could find others who have done it, I could provide you alternate reasoning, which would be just as valid, in again, your court example.

Solid questions can come of what you say, but finding the truth and nailing it down is a little bit more difficult. For instance. Why did the Jews then and now not include it as part their inspired writings? You think that Rome influenced/told them not to? The further you go, the more conspiratorial it can become and the less believable. It may even be true, but nothing but the actual contents, and the writers thereof of the Book of Enoch must be considered. For here is one truth even if what you have said is true; "There is no going back only moving forward".

I like your passion, but what was found in the caves of the Wadi Qumran were many and varied, in and out of scripture. The Book of Enoch was just one of them. You can believe the motivation behind why they were there, besides a place of storage by the Essenes, but you in truth do not know outside of what the Essenes community provided themselves as to the why. The rest like I said initially is conjecture. Well thought out in its own way, but still conjecture.

Again, like I've said, I have not read it. So, the initial question must be is who wrote the Book of Enoch?

Clearly, we know it was not Enoch, since he walked with God but prior to Noah and the flood. So, it came into existence afterwards, written by as far as I know, unknown writers. Why would those writers call it the Book of Enoch? Maybe, to attract readers since Enoch has always been a character in the Bible that has one in wonder of walking with God. I don't know. What does the Book of Enoch say about its own origin?

I will listen to you, but don't expect the emotional presentations, and what ifs, will move me to say, "by golly it must be as he says", because it will not. Some are moved that way, and in truth sometimes I have been in the past as well, but as I get older, and though my years are numbered, it is still prayer, reason, Holy Spirit guidance/understanding must be what His will for me to know/understand that I walk.

This may not be what you wanted to hear, but it is what I have to say and am willing to consider. Brother, I've been where you are at. The information/data fills you up to where it is ready to explode out of you if you don't bring it forward! Mind boggling really. Overwhelming if you don't find an outlet for what is inside you. Frustration when they won't listen. So, I am willing to listen to you, and what you have found out. Know it will be considered, from a Brother in Christ who loves you as a fellow worker in the faith.

With the Love of Christ Jesus.

Its said right in Enoch who wrote it and it wasnt Enoch. It was Enoch's grandson. Enoch was taken "up" for a time then returned to earth after talking to fallen angels who wanted him to talk to God on their behalf to forgive them and let their children live (God said no forgiveness). Enoch was told by a good angel to have his grandson write the book. Once it was done, then Enoch was again taken "up". Then being a holy book and the first recorded book written by man, it was handed down to Noah, who then handed it down the line of patriarchs, probably copied several times over the period of time, with copies surviving to the time of the Israelites, more notably the Essenses. And a copy or two ended up with the churchs in africa. The copies in most of jewishdom and christiandom were no doubt purposely destroyed.

Believers have the 58 words of the prophecy given to Enoch found in the prophecy of (not book) Jude. The same kind of gospel words another prophet named Moses in Old Testament prophesied .Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints (Deuteronomy 33:2)

Jude 14-15 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, "Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,
;To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him".
;

Then he defines who they are.

Jude 16 These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men's persons in admiration because of advantage.. . . . . . A false advantage false pride

No other prophecy that God desired be written down was given. Need more? Why?

There was no chapter division until the 15-century reformation. The word chapter is not even in the bible

One thing I have noticed is the oral tradition of calling chapters books. In that way the unbeliever can add to the one book of law, the one book of prophecy. the one book of life . . By saying the warning only applies to the book (Revelation) which again is not a book it's the last chapter the Amen. . sola scriptura

Books are defined as books plural. Or book singular. Satan would make it all one in the same in order to take away the hidden gospel understanding

Revelation 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

Above the two books. The book of life names of all born in the flesh. the generation of Adam The other the book of the lamb slain from the foundation the six days the holy Father did work .. " Let there be" .

Genesis 5:1 This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him;

Matthew 1:1 The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham

In the book of life the names of the unbelievers will be erased from that book the generation of Adam. Then the two books will be in agreement names of all born again from above.

Two the dynamic dual the one witness our invisible God has spoken

Or Mount Sinah two stone tables written on both sides with no room for oral traditions of men .Two testaments working as one new perfect

Revealtion22:18-21;For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

I read the comment that said: "The Dragon would never allow any of that."

Does The Dragon have the power to permit and not permit; in This Creation? That is, in relation to The Things pertaining to The Spirit Of God.
Does Satan have power over The Kingdom Of God?

HE did have power over The Kingdom Of Heaven.

Why is the introduction given in The Book Of Revelation ignored Today ?

This is The Revelation of Jesus Vhrist {His unveiling of the divine mysteries. Giod gave IT TO HIM TO DISCLOSE AND MAKE KNOWN TO HIS BOND SERVANTS CERTAIN THINGS WHICH MUST SHORTLY COME TO PASS IN THEIR ENTIEITY. (Amplified Bible)

This Book Of Revelation has been taken out of Its context, and applied to This Age ! who does It say It was written to? For what purpose?
Yet It is taken and made to use for All Ages! Are You a BOND SERVANT? Are You One of The Twelve?

There was in the past years, A Book writing called: "The Late Great Planet Earth" .It was a very bad writing ! Yet it sold millions of copies!
Remember this quote.

"Whatsoever a man soweth, THAT shall he reap "!

Indeed; there is a consequence for Your words! I try and bear That in mind when I write anything related to The Bible scriptures .

Thanks for the reply brother since I have not read it, I couldn't have said if it mentioned authorship.

However, not having read it, but having read comments concerning it, I do believe that the Book of Enoch is segmented (?) Yes/No? 1-3. If so, are we to assume that all 3 sections were written by his grandson (Name) and was the author of the entirety of it?

Some of what you have written explaining the coming back to earth, good angel telling grandson to write the book, sounds a bit Mormanish to me. Sorry. Maybe that is where Joseph Smith got his idea for the BOM from. Hummmm

The rest especially is much supposition, since there is no record of it being mentioned anywhere else in the OT that I know of. For such an impressive book, from all accounts, you would think that Jesus who quoted quite a few of the books of scripture, would also have mentioned the Book of Enoch like Jude did. Though just mentioning of it does not lead to its right to be called canon. Now this doesn't mean that the writings are not something to be considered for reading, but it would have helped for it to be considered canon if He had. Though I am told that he did in Matthew, but you would probably know more about that than I would.

Thanks for the info brother.

Ah yes — when in doubt, quote Hebrews 9:27 out of context and pretend it erases Genesis.

Let’s clarify a few things, since your theology appears to be on life support:

“And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.”
Genesis 5:24

The text does not say Enoch died. It says God took him — in the same way Elijah was taken in a chariot of fire (2 Kings 2:11). That is not "Catholic mysticism". That’s the Word of God.

Your attempt to make “took” mean “buried” is laughable, especially when Hebrews 11:5 explicitly states:
“By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.”

Translated. That he should not see death.

What part of that sounds metaphorical to you?

You’re trying to jam Enoch into a system that says everyone must die, yet scripture says Enoch did not. This isn’t Catholicism — this is Hebrews. And your argument just got split open by it.

Now as for your attempt to drag Noah into it:
“Noah walked with God”Genesis 6:9

Yes, and he still died. The Bible does not say God took him — that distinction is made very clear for Enoch. Your argument collapses the second you stop confusing “walked with God” with “translated so he should not see death.”

Also, Hebrews 9:27 is a general principle — it does not override specific exceptions God chooses to make. Jesus did die. Enoch did not. Both are true. Scripture says so.

Trying to erase Enoch's translation to prop up your theology is like using a sledgehammer on the wrong wall — all you’re doing is exposing how little you're listening to what the Bible actually says.

And finally — stop trying to bury the supernatural under layers of pseudo-Pauline philosophy and Catholic straw men. The 10 foot giants existed. Enoch warned them. God took him. And the Nephilim came back post-Flood, just like Genesis 6:4 and Numbers 13:33 make crystal clear.

This isn’t Hollywood.
It’s pre-Flood history

Brother Nick,

I appreciate your thoughtful response — especially the humility in admitting you haven’t read Enoch yet. That honesty alone puts you ahead of most commentators on the subject.

You're right that the Book of Enoch (or more accurately, 1 Enoch) is segmented. It’s actually a compilation of five core sections:

1. The Book of the Watchers (Chapters 1–36)
2. The Book of Parables (37–71)
3. The Astronomical Book (72–82)
4. The Book of Dream Visions (83–90)
5. The Epistle of Enoch (91–108)

There are other later Enochian books (2 Enoch, 3 Enoch), but those are post-Christian era and generally considered Jewish mysticism or Rabbinic expansion. The focus here is 1 Enoch, which was well known before Christ, preserved by the Essenes (the same group behind the Dead Sea Scrolls), and quoted nearly word-for-word in Jude 14–15.

Now as for your concern about authorship — yes, it states in 1 Enoch 15 and 81 that angels instructed Enoch to write (or to have writings preserved) for future generations. It’s not unusual in ancient literature for a prophet’s student or descendant to act as a scribe — think of Jeremiah and Baruch, or Moses and Joshua. That doesn’t invalidate authorship; it confirms the oral-then-written process that many biblical texts went through.

Calling that “Mormanish” is understandable — but off-base. Mormonism invented new revelation after the canon was sealed and used it to rewrite the Gospel. 1 Enoch, on the other hand, was part of Second Temple Judaism, respected in early Christian circles, and was preserved before the canon was finalized — and in some churches, never removed. Ethiopians still include it to this day.

You mentioned that Jesus didn’t quote it. Fair. But remember: neither did He quote Joshua, Ezra, Nehemiah, Ruth, or even Song of Solomon — and no one questions their inclusion in the Old Testament. Argument from silence cuts both ways.

That said, there is evidence Jesus referenced Enochian material — especially in Matthew 22:30 (“...like the angels in heaven who neither marry nor are given in marriage”), which echoes 1 Enoch’s descriptions of the Watchers’ sin.

And Jude’s quote? He doesn’t say “it is like Enoch says,” or “a saying of Enoch goes like this.”
He says: “Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied…”
That’s a prophet.
Quoting prophecy.
From a book widely known by the Apostles and circulated at the time.

So while I won’t go so far as to declare it canonical, I will say this:
If Jude called it prophecy, and the early Church preserved it, and Jesus referenced its themes — maybe the real question is why modern Christians know so little about it.

And maybe — it’s because certain people didn’t want us reading it.
