you mean like when did we idolize the bible and declare all of it to be inspired and just read it for guidance instead of seeking an intimate relationship with God?

i'd say that started with the Jews idolizing the law of moses, long before Christ.

Wait… so all Israelites were Jews now? That’s weird — I could’ve sworn Israel had 12 tribes, not just ‘Judah & Friends.’
What happened to Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Dan, Naphtali, Gad, Asher, Issachar, Zebulun, Ephraim, and Manasseh? Did Scofield and the Dispensationalists cancel them too? Moses wasn't a Jew either, neither was Abraham..

the other direction i thought you might be going with this is the weird sense of powerlessness that is somehow attractive to christians who have the new testament as their security blanket and anything not in it is of the devil.

You are a very strange person.

We have jews. Israelites. 12 tribes of jews who aren't jews. Israelites who aren't israelites.

Dont forget 2000 years ato paul says not all jews are cut from the same cloth lol..

They didnt abide on the vine.

Its all metaphors. Dont get caught up in semantics

It will be interesting to see what skin color the 144k will be when Jesus comes back. I have a concern they wont be white. Not one of them.

You ask a loaded question. Answering it assumes one agrees with the bible bashing insinuation you start off with.

I will separate it.

When is it that man started to tell people not to seek the Lord..

Day 1 to now.

that His words are only in one book..

Today we can confidently say that His words are only in one book. There is no need for Him to appear to you and select you as the person He needs to pen the ten commandments.

I know the word I don't need quotes scriptures..

Clearly not.

Deut 4:2 Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.

Rev 22:18-19 I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book, and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book.

Pro 30:5-6 Every word of God proves true; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. Do not add to his words, lest he rebuke you and you be found a liar.

Deut 12:32 Everything that I command you, you shall be careful to do. You shall not add to it or take from it.

Gal 1:6-9 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel not that there is another one.

Matt 5:18 For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished.

Heb 4:12 For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Josh 1:8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it.

Mal 3:6 “For I the Lord do not change;

Rom 10:17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.

2 Tim 3:16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.

I am seeking answers about when it started.

Specifically on penned scripture, we cannot know this. We have very limited knowledge of the pre-flood era. After Noah, safe to assume with Moses and the exodus from Egypt +- 1275 BC.

---------------------------

God does talk to his children John 10:27. But this is a very special and not ordinary kind of communication. He speaks to us in dreams, with visions, brings scripture to our mind, gives us a sign that someone needs our help and outside of this mostly just helping us to use the grey matter between our ears.

We need to grasp that teaching or telling others that God said something outside of scripture is very dangerous territory. The scripture I gave proves and shows that God would not say anything He has not already said in scripture.

There are many so-called Christians claiming some crazy things. Like those that claim God took them to hell and back. Liars who smoked too much grass and thought of a quick way to make dollars.

I partly agree with cessationism. There is absolutely no need whatsoever for God to part a red sea for you or to send another Moses, Paul, Peter or Jesus.

But, I guess we will always have a few special people that want to feel a bit more important than the next.

You, like Twistie are making a loaded statement.

All Christians who have sought an intimate relationship with God have been lead to the bible and firmly believe it to be the inerrant, inspired and living word of God.

Imagine insinuating you can have an intimate relationship with God outside of the bible....

I would think it started on Mount Sinai (Exodus 31 and 32)

It was there that God demonstrated to the whole world he is not served by human hands as a will of dying mankind.

With his hand or will he hewn out two tablets and with his finger he wrote on both tablets on both sides with no room for oral traditions of mankind.

Moses when came down from Sina the people after a oral tradition had already gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, make us gods, which shall go before us;

The Lord moved Moses to destroy the first set I believe used to represent the old testament the letter of the law (death) the second time he moved Mooses to hewn out two new tablets .Then again with the finger of God Christ wrote sola scriptura on both sides .The second time the new testament

I believe teaching mankind can be used to provide the blank writing material, but God alone writes the words (sola scriptura)

Similar teaching Moses having finished sola scriptura he was to place the Bible on the side of the golden arch. Gold represents the measure of faith (unknown) . as a parable it hid what was inside (two tablets, manna, rod of Aaron) revealing it as it is written (sola scriptura)

God knew beforehand like when Moses came down from mount Sinai.as soon as Moses died it would go right back to the oral tradition of dying mankind Some today call apostolical succession. . . . oral traditions. . . rather than sola scriptura. . ..all things written in the law and prophets or old testament and new ;;

Deauternomy 31 26Take this book of the law,(sola scriptura) and put it in the side of the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, that it (sola scriptura) may be there for a witness against thee. For I know thy rebellion, and thy stiff neck: behold, while I am yet alive with you this day, ye have been rebellious against the Lord; and how much more after my death? Gather unto me all the elders of your tribes, and your officers, that I may speak these words in their ears, and call heaven and earth to record against them.;For I know that after my death ye will utterly corrupt yourselves, and turn aside from the way which I have commanded you; and evil will befall you in the latter days; (new testament) because ye will do evil in the sight of the Lord, to provoke him to anger through the work of your hands.

I find it sad how many are stuck on the flesh yet it is written
Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.

But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as their's also was.

But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.

For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

Like I said I know the word unlike you that is closed minded n follower of mans traditions I allow the Lord to lead me.. I see that many Christians like to belittle n name call anything they don't understand or refuse to even phantom that the Living God can't be kept in a book..
J.s.

But thanks you for your opinions thos I am not interested in them

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God

Still looking where the Lord says tell man not to seek me..
Some stay in the boat I presume while others can Walk on water with the Lord

So where is it said one book n not to seek the Lord if man says not to??

Like I said I know the word unlike you that is closed minded n follower of mans traditions I allow the Lord to lead me..

The problem with bypassing scripture is that you can think a clown on television or the voice in your head is the Holy Spirit when its not.

Dear Sister,
It all goes back to the garden.

The serpent said basically you don't need God, because you can become like Him. Meaning, you should be looking to yourself instead of needing God your Creator to know what you know, and man has been trying to put God into a box of their own creation ever since.

Ya cause in the Word it is written about how peep became filled with so much pride n stuff that they stopped worshiping the Lord n understanding it is He that allows us to even choose to do what is right it's all for His glory yet they give none to Him sadly

As it is written we will know them by their fruits

The problem with bypassing scripture is that you can think a clown on television or the voice in your head is the Holy Spirit when its not.
N the problem with indoctrination is that it keeps one spiritually immature to be truthful

Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews. But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth

You may need man to learn to memorize Scripture I on the other hand allow the Lord to reveal to me..

We r so not the same . Please stop projecting your ways unto me

how do you know that?

How do I know Moses wasn’t a Jew?

Because he was from the tribe of Levi, not Judah.
The term “Jew” comes from Judah — one of the twelve tribes of Israel.
Moses wasn’t from Judah.
He was a Levite — born to Amram and Jochebed, both descendants of Levi (Exodus 6:20).

Judaism didn’t even exist yet.
The word “Jew” doesn’t appear until 2 Kings 16:6
long after Moses, long after the Exodus.

So calling Moses a Jew is like calling Abraham a Baptist.
It’s not just inaccurate —
It’s Scofield-level historical fiction.

And while we’re at it —
The entire Old Testament isn’t about “Jews.”
It’s about Hebrews
then Israelites
then the twelve tribesJudah being just one of them.

Abraham wasn’t a Jew.
Isaac wasn’t a Jew.
Jacob wasn’t a Jew.
Moses wasn’t a Jew.
None of the patriarchs were Jews.

They were Hebrews, then Israelites
long before the Kingdom even split, and the southern part became known as "Judah."

So this modern obsession with calling every Old Testament figure a “Jew” is not biblical —
It’s the result of centuries of theological laziness,
and more recently, Scofield brainwashing.

The Bible doesn’t revolve around “Jews.”
It revolves around God’s covenant people
who are now fulfilled in Christ, not ethnicity.
