perhaps the vatican of 15 years ago, but not the vatican of today.

I don't think it would be wise to be funding the Vatican, especially since the Pope thinks it's okay to put the Catholic money that is collected into the One World Church in Dubai.

From what I understand, Pope Francis decided to use Church funds to be the number one financier to build the buildings for the One World Church. This is something along with many statements that he's made about the president and the USA in recent weeks that have angered many Conservative Catholics, including myself.
