Come, let us worship and bow down. Let us kneel before the LORD our maker, for he is our God. We are the people he watches over, the flock under his care. If only you would listen to his voice today! Psalm 95:6-7 NLT

The first seven verses of Psalm 95 are some of the most beautiful expressions of praise in the whole Bible. As you take the time today to focus on this psalm, you’ll see that the writer feels an overwhelming sense of awe at the greatness of God…and an even more overwhelming sense of gratitude for his Creator’s goodness and love toward His people.

As the psalmist focuses on his God, he is humbled to the point that he encourages his readers to worship, bow down, and kneel before the Lord. This is a word picture of a man who knows that he as the created can do nothing but humbly praise his Creator.

When you focus on the greatness of God and on His goodness toward you, there’s nothing for you to do but humbly worship Him as your God, as the One who made you and watches over you every second of every day.

He really is worthy, isn’t He?

Prayer: Loving Creator, I have so many reasons to worship You every day—starting with the fact that You created me and You redeemed me. I am Yours, Lord! Thank You for Your love and for the many ways You express that love to me every day.

For Yahweh (or Jehovah) is a great elohim
And a great King above all elohim,
In whose hand are the depths of the earth,
The peaks of the mountains are His also.
The sea is His, for it was He who made it,
And His hands formed the dry land.
Come, let us worship and bow down,
Let us kneel before Yahweh our maker.
For He is our elohim

Does reading it like that change anything for you when you consider it?

Dear AnneOminous,
Is there a point you're trying to make? :)

With the Love of Christ Jesus.
